Kewl, Chrispy!! I wanna see, too. No piercings or tats here. Well, except my ears, of course.

Smilin'apple, everyone I know who is friends with an ex still needed time and space to heal after the initial break-up. I think by living with this person you're just prolonging your heartache. But that's just my opinion. Follow your heart, as cheesy as it sounds.

JC, isn't your surgery this week?

Denise, I hope the scale moved a little for you this past week. I made a little, tiny bit of progress, but not much. I've decided I'm hitting the gym HARD this week. I just have to make time...

I have been completely swamped here, working day and night, without a lot of time to chime in here on the boards.

Derbygirl, I was able to talk my Dr. into leaving the band in and putting some fill back in. He only put 1.5 in but that's ok with me.

Hello to all from Toronto - home to the stars for the next 10 days.

First of all a great big cheer for JC who's not losing the band - I'm sure you can taste your goal weight now.

And for all you gals out there....I hope you're jelaous....my date last night was GEORGE CLOONEY.....

Well - sort of.

Went to the priemier of his movie and then to the gala party afterwards. I was able to speak to him for 30 seconds and I'm still on cloud 9. The man is all sex appeal - he should be outlawed.

I also caught a glimpse of Brad and Angelina.

This is just a great time to be in Toronto with all of Hollywood here. I'll be going to the International Film Festival closing gala next weekend and I'll let you know who is thare and what happens. I might just kidnap George...:)

I am so bummed out. I went in for a fill, and instead of gaining more restriction

I lost all restriction. I don't know why. I am afraid I have a leak.

JC, I really feel for you, now that I know what it's like to have an unfilled

band. This stinks.

I just don't get how he added more saline, but I totally lost restriction.

I don't know enough about this sort of thing, but it seems to me that when

he pulled it all out, and told me I still had it all, when he pushed it back in,

it went somewhere else.

Wow. I have been so busy, and haven't been able to keep up at all!! I'm working ALL the time, not to mention school, trying to find a new job, and move! It's crazy.

But the good part is that, I've gone from being absolutely dateless to dating THREE different guys. ;-)

Now it's just trying to figure out which one I would like to develop something with... But I'm just playing it by ear for now, see where it goes...

Denise, did you go back to fill doctor? Are you feeling any better?

Hi Everyone, very tired, started at 4:00 am with a 8 mile 30 min. stationary bike ride. Then after work jogged 3 miles followed by 5 mile walk at 4 mph. Not quite the intensity I had planned, I gave up too soon. I will try to do better tomorrow!

Good Night All, JC

i totally get what you are saying. i was just banded on 8/29. i find myself having to explain to everyone why i'm off from work, or in pain, or not going on dates ect.

i am 33 and am also casually dating.

i hate having to constantly explain myself and then having people have expectations of me. or getting lectured which is the worst

JC, My appointment is Friday and I can't wait. This is horrible. I am trying not to eat more until my appointment, but I am hungry all the time. It's like I forgot what it was like before I got banded.

You completely amaze me with all that exercise! I went to an aerobics class this morning and now my back is killing me. No more jumping around for me. It sucks getting old. I have to stick to the elliptikill and the stair stepper and they get so boring!

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣
