I'm scheduled for March 8. I'm from Maryland and scared as heck. I go for my endoscopy tomorrow and am terrified of it. I've never been put to sleep and that scares me. I have people depending on me and it scares me to think that something could happen to me. My mom was just diagnosed with cancer and was operated on Thursday and she needs me to take care of her. I gotta tell you' date=' watching her go through a full hysterectomy almost made me change my mind about this :-/ I thought I should cancel and she wants me to go through with it as scheduled. I feel pretty torn right now.[/quote']

I'm from MD too!! Annapolis!! March 20 for me! Who is your doc? My edg was on 2/1.... You will be great and fine. You need to do this because you need to be healthy to take care of your mom! You have lots of support here!!

Whoo hoo!! GO FOR MARCH MADDNESS SLEEVERS!!

Since March 11th is just around the corner I have decided to start working on my Water intake. I have read that dehydration is a big problem for lots of folks so I decided today is the day to work on this. I have already drank 16oz and it is already 1:28 in the afternoon. I need to get my next 16oz in by 3pm and drink the rest at dinner and while watching TV tonight. This really is tougher than I thought it would be. I will let you know if I get it all in by tonight. Is there anyone else having problems drinking this much water?

So yesterday I wrapped up all of my pre op preparations for my trip to Las Vegas. I will start my pre op diet on the 22nd which consists of 2 liquid an 1 "Lean and Green" meals per day. It's going to be a challenge since I will be in the land of "All you can Eat Buffet's"!! My first appointment with my doctor and then nutrition class is on March 7th and then surgery on the 8th. I am nervous and excited at the same time. It's great to have others that are feeling the same to share with!!

I also worry about this, especially since we're not supposed to drink either 15 minutes before eating or 45 minutes after, so that leaves at least 3 hours of the day where we're not allowed to drink anything.

I already drink a lot of Water so I have to learn to sip instead of gulp and not to eat during meals.

I really think that is going to be the hardest part of this whole thing for me. I pretty much take a drink with every bite, so changing that habit will be really hard for me.

That has been my biggest hurtle... No drinking during a meal and sipping... I do have the no straw thing down pat!!

I got a tervis cup both 32 oz and 16 oz I take it everywhere .. Drinking leading to sip consistently through my day. I even take the cup into places to eat... (Not classy I know but that's a way of life!)

My insurance approved my surgery on yesterday. It was really quick. Trying to get into a regular exercise routine. How is everyone doing with this?

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
