I saw my endocrinologist today and she pronounced me CURED of my type 2 diabetes as a result of my sleeve surgery!

My A1C was 8.1 last fall. I had my surgery Dec. 18. My A1C today (Jan. 31) was 6.5. I have not needed any insulin or Metformin since my surgery. For this reason, my doctor said she considers me cured.

The relief is overwhelming! :)

My PCP says that my diabetes is in remission and it makes me so happy. I still watch what I eat and enjoy every minute of it. CONGRATS.

Congrats! Mine is in remission, too, and I couldn't be happier. It was the big medical motivator for me to have the surgery and I am so pleased that it worked for me.

It's just one more way the sleeve will improve your life. :)

That is really awesome - congratulations!

I have an appointment with my primary care doctor and labs today and I am hoping she will be taking me off Metformin as well!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
