Dec. 17 Sleevers - How are you on week out?

I'm down 13.8.

Last Thurs & Fri were rough on the head hunger.

I'm looking forward to eating something other than a Protein shake. Having French onion Soup and cream of mushroom at various holiday gatherings this week.

Still having a hard time getting in all my liquids.

I go back to the NUT on Jan. 3 for the next phase.

How are you doing?

Shrimp and Fitbit - Yesterday I discovered shrimp (jumbo size) on sale at the grocery store. Bought some and ate a serving (3). They went down better than tuna and canned chicken. Just an FYI for anyone that likes shrimp. re: fitbit - did 23 floors on the stair master only to discover that the fitbit does not recognize stairs on machines like that. Bummer.

I love Shrimp ! Yes bummer about the fitbit

Ok, the only one I haven't tried is the premier which I've seen a few others mention. Muscle milk light...gag, just tried that one yesterday. It's something with the smell. Sweet doesn't seem to bother me so...off to costco I'll go. Man, wish I had bought stock in protein drinks before surgery, lol

Alabamasleever - the good thing about Costco is they'll refund your money if you don't like the shakes. They were sampling the Premier ones last week, and I found the vanilla to be sweeter than the chocolate.

Doreen use a blender for the PB2. I have a bullet and its real easy to mix the shakes that way.

I'm 31 days out now, and down 30 pounds. I love my sleeve, and had no complications what so ever.

Yay! Happy for you. :)

Just sending good vibes to our 12/17 sleevers! How is your energy levels??? Physically I am doing good and am down about 20 lbs since surgery but I am SO TIRED!!! It is like I can't get my energy back and my endurance is shot. Trying to workout can be a nightmare cause I'm just dragging. Blood levels are all good and I am sleeping at night and I am taking my vitamins and getting my protien in. Anyone else? People keep saying "oh that is normal, you will get it back" but I'm getting pretty impatient with it! They also did a hiatal hernia repair when they did my surgery, maybe the extra surgical work is adding to my taking longer.

Would love to hear how you all are doing at this point with your energy and endurance!

I'm tired too. Right now one of my six incisions is funky. Last week four of the six had sutures work their way out. This last one must be stuck. Taking bactrim, and cleaning with peroxide.

It's been a month and I have been exhausted and dragging my feet. I went back to work two weeks post op. I did go for blood work bc I had to meet w the nutritionist one mont post op and I'm down 32.5 lbs. but my vitamins and all were good, my iron was 28 (almost anemic) which causes the exhaustion. I also had to lower my protein from 80-100 to 60-70 until I get more energy back bc it was too much protein. I'm on a prescribed iron pill and I feel a lot better- it's been about 4 days. I'm getting my energy back. Do not force yourself to work out until you have the energy. Be careful!

I was sleeved 12/5 and experienced the exact same thing up to a week ago. I've added 1 cup of coffee (with Dr's approval). It made a HUGE difference. I can even get to the gym after work. Good luck. It'll get better soon.

I was sleeved 12/11. Down 28 lbs. Went back to work 1/15. Been tired this week but thinking maybe its because of the cold weather. I get out of work at 6 so get home late. Eat dinner by 7 then ready for bed and watch tv. Havent been cleared to work out yet. Going for 6 wk check in 2 days. Still have problems drinking water. happy with my sleeve!

Is anyone else feeling emotional? I don't think I was an actual food addict, but I do have PCOS, and I'm just wondering if my hormones are out of wack. Everyday I feel like crying or just laying in bed and I can't explain why. I don't miss food that much and I find it hard to care to get in my protein and water

Surgery on 12/4/12. Down 33 lbs. Still have trouble with the protein. Not hungry at all. I understand what you mean about a little depresion. Some days good some days not so good.

I'm 12/17 too. I'm down 18 since surgery, and 12 before that. I was barely 35 BMI at my highest, so I'm going to loose slowly, which is fine with me. I'm very happy with 18 pounds in five weeks.

I tried to do my previous work out, which is a 7 mile round trip bike ride to and from my son's school with a very steep hill at the end. I made it, but was more out of breath than usual. I did this at three weeks out. The problem was that as the day went on, I got very light headed and had to eat something because I thought I was going to pass out. It was the only scary moment I have had since the surgery. I think that taking in 600-800 calories a day and then expending 600 on a bike ride isn't going to work this soon after surgery. Since then, I've just been doing walking on the treadmill, which seems to be fine for me. It has been so cold out, that I'm not in a huge rush to get back on the bike just yet anyway. I am more tired than usual, and sometimes want to take a nap or sleep in, which is not usual for me. I'm thinking that as we adjust to our new bodies and new calorie intake, our energy levels will go up. I'm loving the journey, and thrilled to have all of you to hear about your journey. Thanks!
