    All of my December sleevers...

Sleeved 12/11, started at 280, was 276 day of surgery, down to 241 last friday but put on 4 lbs over the weekend from eating poorly (restaurant food instead of home food). Getting back on my schedule this week. So close to 40 lbs! @10 wks today. I have my 3 mos meeting on 3/15 so I'd love to be down 50lbs by then. That gives me 23 days, so should be do-able! That would be half of my goal weight! I sometimes do a shake in the mornings because I'm running late for work, they truly do satisfy me all the way til lunch. Lunch is typically a salad of some sort, tuna, chicken or lettuce with beans, chicken and feta, although yesterday I had a chicken curry kabob at the Greek place and it was yummy! I do get that little hungry feeling about an hour after eating, I never thought of it being due to stomach acid like some people say. I've been taking my pills in the evening, going to readjust that starting today and take them at lunch! Good luck to all.

    December sleevers

I was sleeved December 11. I was 280 before surgery and 276 day of surgery and weighed in this morning at 247. So, I've lost 29 since surgery day and 35 overall. I feel like I should be loosing more but I have to admit while I'm eating all my Protein (20g @ meal) I think I may be getting to many carbs due to fresh fruit and some chocolate cravings where I've had the Hershey Simply singles. I haven't thrown up at all, but I do get esophogeal spasms if I try to eat to fast. I am still taking the omeprosol (prilosec) and ursidol (for gall bladder). I don't get in enough fluids. Although thank god I can finally drink Water again! I couldn't drink water until week 7 and this past Tuesday was 8 wks for me, but I'm only getting in 2 glasses of water a day. I am trying to increase that by keeping the large (17 oz) water bottles at my desk at work so its right there and I don't have to get up to get water. But it does feel heavy on my stomach. I really don't like the artifical sweetners in crystal light or mio, but sometimes add lemon juice to break the surface tension. I get in at least an hour of walking a day but am also trying to do my exercise bike at least 3x @ wk and want to build myself up to doing it every day. I feel myself falling back into some of my old eating habits, reaching for crackers and PB or cheese instead of eating something more nutritious. Gotta get back in line. Best of luck to everyone!
  3. I was sleeved 12/11. Down 28 lbs. Went back to work 1/15. Been tired this week but thinking maybe its because of the cold weather. I get out of work at 6 so get home late. Eat dinner by 7 then ready for bed and watch tv. Havent been cleared to work out yet. Going for 6 wk check in 2 days. Still have problems drinking water. happy with my sleeve!
  4. Doreen use a blender for the PB2. I have a bullet and its real easy to mix the shakes that way.
  5. If you like peanut butter try a product called PB2 its powdered peanut butter with 85% less calories and fat. I found it at Heinins. But i know you can get it online @amazon. Health food stores may have it. I add it to my shakes and it geta rid of that whey taste.

    All of my December sleevers...

Sleeved 12/11 down 28 lbs. Still cant drink water straight. Using ocean spray cranberry-pomegranate single serving pouches in 16.9 oz bottled water. sometimes only use 1/2 pouch. Better than crystal lite.

    water

I agree! I always drank water and now it feels "heavy" to me, without knowing a better way to describe it. Just two days ago I got Ocean Spray Cranberry-Pomegranate single serving pouches that mix with water similar to crystal lite, but it doesn't taste as strong as crystal lite. Hope that might help you. Maybe after 3-4 months we can go back to drinking plain water!

    Ounces? Volume or weight?

Hmm i'm 3 wks out and have been using a scale for meat. So i measure 2 oz of chicken on the scale then blender it to puree. So in order to use a measuring cup, do you blender it and then measure 2 oz?
  13. Blueyes32: so glad your.doctor gave you something to coat uour stomach! Thats great news. If you are still feeling dizzy it could be low blood pressure. I dont know if uou are on blood pressure medicine or not, but many people no lpnger need it after their surgery. Again ask your doctor. If thats not it you might be getting dehydrated. Make sure to get your fluids in! Take care! Ff
  14. Hi all! Thanks for the info Mary, I was on week 3 and stalles so its good to know loosing slower is ok even maybe better. Also thank you Sanders for the name of that book, Im going to check it out. I also wanted to mention to anyone having trouble with the taste of their protein shakes.....if you love peanut butter like I do, buy PB2. Its powerded peanut butter! I added it to my vanilla premier shake this morning and its delicious! I wish I had it earlier on because it totally disguises that whey taste in the shakes! You can order it online at Amazon ($5.49) but you have to pay for shipping which is twice ($13.00) the cost of the stuff itself. I found it at Heinins for $6.49 for 6.5oz. You only use 2T @ time so this should last awhile. And The scale finally moved again - down 1.5 lbs. Good luck all!

    3 weeks post-op

Hi all. Today marks 3 weeks since surgery. I had lost 22 lbs but have put 2 lbs back on this week since i started puree. Is that normal? I hate that im not loosing! of course im not moving alot and maybe thats why too. I went to walmart yeaterday and walked around the store but with all the snow outside im not going for walks every day other than walking around the house, up and down basement stairs. Eating about 500 calories @day.

Thx kapoorvilla. Im gping to gnc to get pb2 maybe that will help me drink my shakes more. Also some yogurt ans other things! Ill keep you posted when i start to loose again.
  18. I really recommend you call the doctor now instead of waiting til the 22nd. I started that medicine after my 2 week appt. And so did a friend of mine who had the sleeve. I would check to make sure you didnt misunderstand when to start it! It would be horrible to have to go through another surgery while you are recovering from the sleeve! The pain is severe. Better to be safe than sorry.

Wow thats great news! I'm still stalled! Today 261. Frustrating to say the least but i know i'm not getting all my liquids in and i'm eating around 600 calories @day which i thought might be too much but you are saying 1000 so i may call my NUT today or track my liquids better today......hmmm. Are you back to work yet? I'm still off work but have been doing more housework cleaning, washing curtains, and going through my closet and dresser rearranging and cleaning stuff out to get moving more. Right side still hurts if i overdo it. But getting better! I'm at 24 days postop today. Thanks for the update!
  20. Hey. Coughing up green bile is a sign of gallstones! I know because it just happened to my daughter a few months ago and she had to have her gallbladder removed. Your doctor should have given you a perscription for Ursidol which is the medication we take during rapid weight loss so that we do not develop gallstones! If you have this pill please make sure you are taking it every day! If you dont have it speak to your doctor immediatly!
  21. I bought a knock-off of a bullet at Aldis for $18 and its awesome. Works great for blending 1-2 cups of food at a time. Sleeved 12/11 and on puree now. Initially lost 22lbs but at the 3 week stall now.

Yeah i even thought of going back to the protein shakes instead of puree but i suppose that wouldnt be following the proper diet plan which i believe is to get us back to eating normal food in a balanced meal and smaller portions while getting in our proper protein. well like my one friend told me to remember at each step along the way "this too shall pass". And it will!

    I dont feel good (help?)

Hi Sara. Thats my daughters name, so i am compelled to reply. I am 18 days post op. Where are you sitting? Sleeping? When i came home i was staying in a recliner that you have to use your legs to close and didnt realize how much i was using my stomach muscles which aggravated my muscle stitches. I had my brother move a different chair into the living room for me which had a lever for the footrest which helped. I dont really know if you can use a heating pad or not. You may need to call your doctor to ask. I wish i had more information but i can only tell you the pain is nearly gone for me now. Just an occasional twinge. Best of luck!
