Is anyone sorry they did it?

I'm so glad I saw this topic. I'm in the middle of my journey and about 3 months out from submitting to insurance and I have wondered if some people regret doing this. But it's nice to hear that you didn't. I am so excited about this journey and wish it was already done. Thanks for the encouragement.

Sorry I didn't do it sooner.

My only regret is the misconception I had about how life would be after surgery. Before surgery, I had a lot of 'last suppers' / 'food funerals' because I thought I would never be able to eat normally again. Instead, I have found that I can eat my favorite foods, but I do so in normal size portions.

Diddo!!!!

Ditto the comments about only regretting not having it done sooner. And while I didn't have many of the serious complications (leak) I had a rough go - badly torn abdominal muscles and bad GERD. But even with all that, I'd do this again in a second.

The only regret is that I didn't do it sooner also! I will be one year out on 12/22 and have lost 186! I couldn't be happier!

I wish I had done this years ago. It was rough in the beginning, but I was mentally prepared thanks to the great information on this site. Every day I get a little bit better.

Add me to the group of those whose only regret is not having done it sooner. This is the best thing to ever happen to me and I couldn't be happier. I wish this had been around when I was in my twenties, it would have saved me years of poor health and unhappiness.

I did everything my doctor and nutritionist told me to do. I just saw my surgeon yesterday and he said I can lose 20 more. I have met my personal goal already, but continue to lose. I will keep going for now. I haven't worked out like I should. Starting the gym tomorrow to tone tone tone!

I wish I would have done it sooner also. I also eat what I want but in much smaller portions. I do find that I can careless where we go when we go out to dinner. Takes the choice of picking a place for dinner off of me ????.

If you would have asked this a few weeks ago I would have said yes but now I have no regrets. The first few weeks are hard but I am on week 4 post op and feeling so good now I was in a lot of pain and then it just went away I'm on soft foods now and finally feel normal again I'm down 30lbs and it feels so good. Again just know it is hard the first few weeks but that will go away and everything will be fine good luck

Not even 1 minute of regret! I am also happy about the 6 months of NUT visits pre op. I wasn't happy at the time but now that I am 3 months out I realize how beneficial they really were. I have felt great since the day of surgery!

Loving my sleeve. Especially during this holiday season!

No way! Got sleeved a week ago today and started at 244lbs and today I weighed 219. I know it won't be that good every week but I've lost my "turkey neck" as my husband calls it and pants are already baggy!!! Loving life! Can't wait til I can eat some real food..lol

I am SOOOOO happy that I went through with this.

Pre Op I doubted my ability to be successful, was scared to death I would have some serious complication or might die, was terrified of letting go of food, feared that I would have constant problems post-op since I travel so much for work and food would be difficult to manage the first month....

Leap of faith.

I would do it again. I would have loved to have been able to do it decades ago.

It has made a huge difference in my life.

My quality of life has improved significantly and I am a outwardly happier and more confident person. I actually am beginning to feel good in my own skin.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
