My sister in law wants to try out high to help jump start her weight loss. She has about 100 lb to lose, but is 6 foot and wears the extra weight well. Lucky her! Does any one have experience with hgh that I might pass onto her?

She would like to use the sleeve tool, but insurance does not cover it and it is too expensive for self pay.

She is around 30 so needs to consider her biological clock is ticking and she doesn't want to jeopardize her ability to have children ( hgh changes hormone levels right?).

HGH does not change hormone levels. It mimicks pregnancy hormones to have your body burn more calories. You also only eat 500 calories a day. There also is controversy over what method works best: shots or drops. I have done a round and it was not fun. I felt weak, hungry, moody, grumpy for two weeks. It is very strict and you can not deviate from the food plan or you will gain or not lose weight. I did keep off half of what I had lost before I got the sleeve.

I'm hoping I'm reading something wrong or something. Are we talking about HGH or HCG?

HGH (human growth hormone) to my knowlege will not assist in any type of weight loss. As a matter of fact the most common use of it is to increase bone size so the body can hold more muscle.

HCG (the pregnancy hormone) on the other hand will almost definitely assist in losing weight temporarily. It a very strong appetite suppressant. Unfortunately everyone I've ever met that has used it rapidly regained more weight than they lost immediately after they came off of the medication.

I've done HCG twice actually. I lost quite a bit of weight. The last time I was 216 and lost down to 179 in 5 weeks. That was last December. I now weigh 243. Works great but anytime you don't make a lifestyle change you will gain it back.

Thanks, I am talking about hgh because that is what she asked me about. Now that you have created a clear delineation between hgh and hgc, I am going to ask her which one. Very useful information for both though. Thanks!

Hey fiddleman I thought you meant HCG too.

Yeah, I actually think my hearing was selective. Lol. I checked with my wife because she was there when we had the conversation over the weekend. Yup, she confirmed hgc. So if a guy takes this he would get curves in all the wrong places? Just curious...

Messing with hormones of any kind is WAY scarier than surgery to me. Besides WHO wants to feel pregnant agin?

I did the HCG diet for 6 weeks 3 years ago. Lost 33 lbs and a ton of my hair. I could not maintain the 500 calorie a day diet and after 1.5 years I gained it all back. I know some have great success but its just not manageable.

That's a big reason I'm making a life change... It's about more then just a diet.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
