That was a little rude. She made it her choice to do it that way.

Just because you make a bad choice that does not make it right. She's married to the man and claims she plans on continuing to be. Would you want to be married to someone who would have major surgery and keep it a secret? That's not a relationship. If that's all you have don't complain because you are basically giving what you are getting back. I feel sad for everyone involved here.

Iggychic you obviously don't know my life story or the people involved. I respect your opinion, but I wasn't asking for it. I just needed to vent. My husband can be a real a*****e sometimes and I just rather save myself the trouble of having to hear his **** the day of surgery. You must have an amazing, super supportive husband and that's great... I don't.

Connie3... How old are your children...? Will you need help with them after surgery? I understand not telling many people about your surgery... I only told my husband, mom, my best friend of 15 years and my sister in law. I told my dad he had a nasty reaction to it but I honestly think he forgot already... I am not telling people, other then the people I really feel should know and they already do! I will tell people in my family after... I don't want or need to deal with their comments before!

My kids are 10, 8, and 1. The older 2 will be in school and my mother watches the little one.

I will not tell my husband about the surgery, but he'll find out. My parents will be notified as soon as I'm out. My sister is the only one that knows and she's going to help pick the kids up from school, help with homework etc etc.

Marriage is a partnership, not a domination. I would never consider forbidding my wife to do anything she wants. We may be married, but she's still an individual and is living her own life.

Good luck to you, and I'm glad you're getting some support with your kids.

Good luck to you. I don't believe you are doing anything wrong, your husband as made it clear that he doesn't want to know anything about the procedure. You told him your intentions, and he has made his feelings clear. Best of luck to you and please keep us posted.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
