Clothes For Hospital Stay

Recommended Posts

I know to take comfy loose clothes. But did you change out of your gown and into your clothes when you got into your room? And ladies..did you put in a sports bra or any bra? I ask because I can't stand to go braless.

I only stayed in the hospital for one night but I put my PJ bottoms that night then the next day I put on a sports bra and a shirt.

I planned on changing but my oversized hospital gown was ok. I didn't feel like bothering with changing clothes. And I definitely didn't care about a bra at that time. I didn't even wear one on the ride home. =)

It wasn't worth it for me to change. Between the catheter and Jp drain I couldn't have worn pajama pants anyway. Gown in the front, gown in the back, socks. That's all you really need. (and clean underwear).

Luckily I will not have a catheter. But I'm not sure about the drain.

I spent 2 nights in the hospital and was allowed to shower and change the morning after surgery. They removed the catheter at that time. Was much more comfortable in my own clothes. I also wore a bra. Not really comfortable in public without one. Probably didnt help that I work at the hospital where I had surgery and didn't really want visitors to see me in a gown.

I didn't have a drain or catheter, and I never changed clothes. The gown was so much easier to wear than clothes. I wore the same sweats home that I wore to check in.

I wore my own nightgown as soon as they let change. Theirs just seemed too hot and heavy. I brought a bra that I planned to wear but I was so swollen in the rib cage area that it hurt to breathe when I wore it. I would recommend getting one a size larger if you can. I would have been more comfortable doing my laps if I had been able to wear a bra. I was finally able to wear it on the flight home 3 days later but it was about a week before it felt comfortable again.

I had a drain, but I was still able to wear my yoga-style pants. I really liked that because I didn't have to worry about showing off my butt when walking the halls. I did keep the hospital gown on top until it was time to go home.

I'm not comfortable going braless either, I ordered a zip in the front sports bra so I don't have to fuss with it in the hospital.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
