Too Much Protein?!

Recommended Posts

So I've been doing really well with Protein intake (now that I've found something that I *like*) and overdid it on the protein yesterday. I wasn't really wanting food but had bit too much protein (smoothie and a shake)- I was at 129 instead of in the 80s. I feel fine but I'm wondering what, if any, are the side-effects of overdoing it on protein..

Got this from Google.

ix Potential Side Effects of Too Much Protein in the Diet

What happens when your diet regularly exceeds recommended protein levels? Depending on the amount and type of protein you consume, you may end up experiencing a few side effects.

Kidney Problems

According to National Kidney Foundation, eating too much protein may stress kidneys and contribute to pre-existing kidney problems, high levels of protein in the urine, and kidney stones. Getting plenty of exercise and drinking Water can help the kidneys flush wastes out of your system more effectively. Make sure you talk to your doctor before beginning a high protein diet if you have ever experienced kidney problems

I was at a sleeve support group and they said too much Protein will be stored as fat if your body doesn't need it for energy. Also too much protein without enough Water can be bad and lead to things like Constipation.< /p>

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
