Exhausted! Not Sure A Week Is Enough Out Of Work

Hello everyone!

I was sleeved on Tuesday the 11th and I'm doing well, drinking Protein and lots of liquids - still trying to space things out some. My question is is being this exhausted normal? I went to the store to day gone maybe an hour and I could barely open the car door when we got home. Yesterday it was the same. I had only planned on taking a week out of work and going back on Wednesday the 19th, I just don't see how that possible.

I don't know what you do for a living but I was sleeved on the 4th and I am taking another week off. I have a very labor intensive job and I know that I am too tired to go back. I think everyone is different. If it takes you longer than your body is telling you that you need time. If you have the time, I say take it! Good Luck to you! Looking forward to pureed food on Tuesday!

Unfirtunately yes it is possible. After i was sleeved I was very tired and run down for almost two weeks following surgery. Everyone is different and hopefully you start feeling better soon!

I was sleeved the 4th and supposed to go back the 12th. I did half days the 12, 13, 14. Full time starts tomorrow. :-) I feel much much better now.

I only took a week off of work and I was fine. But everyone is different i wasn't feeling as wxhuasted as you though at all after surgery. I was working in my yard four days later.

I was pooped post-op! And I was good to drink my Water, get my Protein, sleep, walk, and take my Vitamins. I agree that everyone heals differently. Take more time off if at all possible.

I'm almost on week 4. Today my husband and I cleaned the house & changed our bedding and did laundry. I'm exhausted. I just climbed in bed after a shower and havent budged. He brough me a protien drink for dinner. How romantic.

Anyway.....i am stull exhausted!! I work with dogs so i'm taking another month off. :-)

I was sleeved on the 4th (Tuesday) and went back on the 11th (following Tuesday)... I was very exhausted the days leading up to that but since then Ive been fine and it doesn't bother me at all.

I finally got my energy back around day 12-13 post op...Take off work longer if you can...

I have a desk job and went back on day 6 which was a Thurs, by Sat day 9 I was exahusted and could barely get dressed. I relaxed for the weekend and felt better Monday for work. Everyone is different but you will get better everyday! Now if I can just get out of this stall!! I lost 20 pounds from the start of preop and haven't lost a pounnd in a week :(

Being tired, exhausted may be a sign you are a bit dehydrated. Like a wilting flower, if you give yourself more Water you will likely perk up.

I disagree it is MORE likely because our bodies are not taking in hardly any nutrients. Wait to you have your surgery...................you will see.

I'm sure that is PART of it' date=' but my Nursing degree and 33 years of experience, professional and personal tells me dehydration can knock you on your rump.

I am currently on a pre-op diet that severely restricts calories. i felt tired but not exhausted and now, I feel even more energetic. Fluids is the key.

Thank you all. I work in a hotel (front desk and sales) I had planned on half days this week but....my boss left and now thats not really an option. I'm calling my Dr. and having them keep me out a bit longer. My surgeon had wanted me out 4 weeks to start with and I said no. I don't want to use my vacation time, not sure if TDI will make me or if I can hold it.

I am a nurse as well as was sleeved on the 11th also and I am beat. Taking a shower and getting dressed wears me out. I didn't feel like this post op at all maye a day while my body adjusted but we are recovering. I couldn't imagine going back to work yet even just a 'desk job' I can't even think half the time lol. I feel your pain hun.

I felt exhausted for about 4 weeks. I work for my hubby so he had mercy on me and let me leave every afternoon to nap. I also just got sick with a virus and it kicked my booty. Try not to get too worn down so you don't catch a bug! Rest and get your protein!
