I got sleeved on the 6th. I am emotionally struggling with the liqui diet. I just want to feel food in my mouth again. Everything else is going really well. Recovery time was nothing at all. Good luck to you.

I was just sleeved on the 11th (Tuesday). I had a great first day but my second day was difficult because of gas, nausea and vomiting but my dr said that day three would be a new day and it was. I came home on Thursday and have felt really much better than I expected. I have been following my liquid diet to a tee but it has been a little difficult seeing my husband and son eating normal food. (friends have brought food over for my family because my husband broke his leg while I was in surgery and is in a leg cast now. we are a fine pair! haha) Anyway, things are going really well. I stopped taking my pain pills yesterday and just getting used to my new life and new stomach. I have nicknamed my stomach Dolores (in spanish it means hurts or pain haha). I have lost 6 pounds since Tuesday so I am very encouraged. During my most difficult time, I kept telling myself that it is only temporary and that it wouldnt last forever and I was right. Learning how to rock my sleeve!

I was sleeved on the 10th. I spent 3 nights in the hospital, it was supposed to be 2 nights but they kept me because I ended up needing blood. The hospital stay was hard for me, I was uncomfortable but not miserable and hated the loss of control. I have not needed anything for pain or nasua after the first 24 hours. I am feeling a little bit better each day. It still hurts for a brief few seconds to stand up and sit down. I still have a lot of swelling. I am looking forward to going back to work tomorrow because I am going stir crazy.

I weighed myself this morning for the first time and weigh 3 pounds more than I did the morning of surgery. Trying not to be discouraged about that.

I'm on my pre-op and have done that about 5 different times. Soft chocolate chip Cookies, mini Danish and soft taco. Needed something to chew on and it did satisfy my craving. Not a big deal:)

Sleeved on 11th. Lost 16 lbs on my 2 week preop diet. Surgery went well, the first 2 days were the hardest due to nausea and gas. I found that as I got up and started walking around the Hospital things got a lot better. Came home on Thursday, thing improve a little more each day. I find that my sleeve will tolerate warm better, so have been drinking warm Decaf tea which also has helped with the gas????. Have not weighed yet, will wait until my first post-op visit.

It is not a piece of cake, or a walk in the park but it is worth every sacrifice I have made thus far. I love myself too much to throw away any more years of my life to obesity. I know this is only a tool but I intend to do my share of the work to make this work.

Wishing all those struggling with pre-op or post-op diets the very best. It is not an easy road but please remember YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!!!!

I was sleeved September 14, came home last night. The gas pains were the worst today I feel much better!!! I just got on the scale and I'm down 7lbs since I started my liquid diet. The process is hard it's not for everyone but according to all the outcomes I've been reading the sacrifice is all worth it in the end. Good luck everyone!!

I was sleeved 9/4. Weight before pre-op diet: 285. Day of surgery: 274. Weight today (9/17) 265.

Ive been really lucky and haven't really had any bad issues. I am supposed to be on full liquids still but over the weekend my desire for substance won and I had a few bites of mashed potatoes and half of a scrambled egg. Ate very slowly and had no problems. Going to follow up appt this afternoon. Hopefully I won't get in trouble! ;p

Also finding that warm goes down well as does ice cold. anything room temp is just making the cut. I'm taking a few more days out of work and going back on the 24th. I have to plan my day out and my Protein Drinks I can start full liquids on the 25th :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
