Vaginal Bleeding

Recommended Posts

Have any other women out there experienced any post surgical vaginal bleeding? Not the right time in my cycle. I'm 4 days post op, and already down 10 lbs from night before surgery. Maybe the rapid weight loss messing with hormone levels??

Yes, surgery messes with your hormones.... I'm 2 weeks late because of them lol

Many women have irregular periods after surgery.

I am about to hit one month out and I am on my second period. I haven't had one in over a year with my iud, then I get 2 back to back. My doc said its because of the estrogen being released from the fat cells. All I know is that I have an iud for a reason, and I want it to stop! Lol

Alliemm, understandably frustrating!! How is your energy level at one month. I feel weak as a mouse. Wonder how you heal with so little nourishment.

Alliemm' date=' understandably frustrating!! How is your energy level at one month. I feel weak as a mouse. Wonder how you heal with so little nourishment.[/quote']

It is different day to day. I needed a nap today because I was so drained. My Nut has me on three meals a day and one Protein shake. No snacking and when I'm not eating I have my Water on hand. I notice the days I don't drink enough Water I am sluggish. The first two weeks I napped every day. The third week I was taking my kids swimming. As long as I drink my water and eat enough protein/carb I am good to go. With only being 4 days out, I recommend planning a nap in your schedule when you can. It will help your healing along with fluids.

I don't have PCOS and I can set my watch by my cycle, but my cycle came 2 weeks early after Inhad surgery. It sucks, and the cramps were even worse.

3 months post-op and even being back on birth control my cycle is still a bit out of whack. I have heard it can take a while for you to get back to regular.

Good luck

I wish I'd seen this a month ago! I went to the gyno for my annual check-up and mentionned that I'd been spotting for several weeks. Also I did mention the fact that I'd had sleeve surgery and lost nearly 60 lbs. I hada an endometrial biopsy and a vaginal ultrasound in the office. While the biopsy cam back normal, my doctor as still concerned about the bleeding and recommended having a hysteroscopy and D&C to determine if pre-cancerous cells existed. I had the procedure today and am waiting for the pathology results. While searching this site, I found this discussion. If this is why I'm bleeding, I'll be so pissed that I went through all this expense and stress over the last month. I asked my surgeon if the bleeding could be due to the weight loss, his PA said "no" and that I should have my hormones checked. Hormone levels were all normal.

Why wouldn't the surgeon let sleeve patients know that irregular vaginal bleeding could be possible after losing drastic amounts of weight so quickly? I wish I'd known. :(

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
