alliemm got a reaction from misslisa810 in Need HelpI purchased pb2 from whole foods. It's powdered peanut butter. 2 tablespoons is 5 g of protein. Very low calorie! I mix it with my shake to make it taste better. I hate the after taste. So if you like peanut butter this is a great choice! I Actually look forward to taking my protein shakes now. It's just reminding myself is the hard part.

alliemm got a reaction from mylifeinpink in A Little Worried Here.... Help :-(I have RLS (restless leg syndrome). I mainly feel it at night when I am laying down. It is the same as what you are describing. It just drives me crazy. I have to get up and walk around or lay on the floor. My doctor old me to get a massager that vibrates to add stimulation to my legs for the blood flow. It helps a little. He offered to give me medicine for the symptoms, but I can't take it till I am no longer nursing. I hope your doctor finds the answer for you. Good luck.

alliemm got a reaction from wantingtolivehealthy in Excerise I Hate It, Even The Stuff I Thought I LikedI am not a huge fan of exercise myself. One thing I did fall in love with is zumba. I go with some friends once a week and it's a blast. I haven't been able to go for a few weeks because of surgery, but I can't wait to go again. They offer them for sure at 24 hour fitness and my YMCA offers them. My hour of exercise goes by fast and I was burning between 800-1000 calories.

alliemm got a reaction from Angelmom in So Gosh Darn.. Emotional!I am not quite 2 weeks post op and I feel worse than the short period of baby blues I went through after having my last kiddo. I cried like a spoiled brat when my husband said I couldn't buy a lotion for my dry skin. Then I cried my heart out when I didn't get a pedicure today. That's not the only things that have had the water works working over time! I don't really have anyone to talk to about it and my kids and husband are walking around me like they are on egg shells. I made lunch for my in laws the other day and then asked why I wasn't eating it with them. Uh, really?? They told my husband I was disrespectful! I show them a video of the surgery days before the incident, I inform them of my lifestyle change and that's how they react? How the heck do I handle this? I just wish I could find the cause of all these emotions before they take over completely. Does anyone have any advice??

alliemm reacted to jh5497 in So Gosh Darn.. Emotional!I'm super emotional too. I think it's normal. I cried the other day because when my sister got married 12 years ago, I was too young to get into the bar and attend her bachelorette party. I have been embracing my emotions as they come for the most part.
As far as your in-laws go, just shrug it off. You did your part and informed them of your lifestyle change. You made them lunch when your husband could have taken on the responsibility of entertaining guests. Your in laws are stuck with you regardless of their opinion -- You married their son, he loves you and their opinion is their own issue -- don't take it on and make it yours to stress about. Ask yourself if this will matter in 6 months? I sure hope it doesn't!!

alliemm got a reaction from Celaine47 in I Wish I Could See The Difference!Go buy yourself a new, flattering outfit. Maybe even the next size down so you can watch yourself melt away and one week you will put it on and be excited you can fit in it. Or, go shopping and try new clothes on and take pictures of yourself and compare them to your before pics. Wearing the same clothes makes it harder to see the loss. Don't get discouraged! You have lost a good chunk of weight and should be proud !! Congrats on making it this far. We all have our downer days, it's how you pull yourself out of it that makes a differene. Which is hard to do, but if you find a way you will feel much better. Good luck to you!!

alliemm got a reaction from ShouldBlittler in I Can Not Stop CookingI think I'm losing it! I had surgery Aug 14th, I came home from the hospital on Thursday night. Since Friday evening all I want to do is cook. I'm not hungry, I'm not interested in even eating the food (not even to just lick it)! My family and in laws certainly don't mind, but what is going on? I'm spending so much time on pinterest gathering recipes and it's nothing I can eat. I spent 2 hours cooking in the kitchen just yesterday. Has anyone else gone through this?

alliemm reacted to bethL in Pain While EatingHold up. It frustrates me to no end when some one posts something and every one acts as though he or she is doing something wrong. My doctor allowed me unlimited Popsicles (bites included) and other clear sugar free liquids including low sodium broth as soon as I was discharged from the hospital on day 2. I was only on clear liquids while in the hospital and was instructed to begin adding milk to get to full liquids as tolerated. Please remember that every doctor is different. To answer your question, Tiff187, I am 1 week out and also get the pain. At first it was with everything (even water). Now, it's only with heavier items such as my vitamins and milk. When we put things in our stomachs (anything - water, etc), it naturally causes contractions of the muscles to push the food and liquid through the stomach into the intestine. Normally we cant feel this, but we can feel it post-up. Every one is different. Some people have more pain with hot things, others have more pain with cold things. Just do what you can tolerate so long as it is on the plan that you have. You'll be great!

alliemm got a reaction from Red597 in 2 Days Before My Surgery-And I CheatedDon't stress yourself out like I did! I cheated and was so nervous about telling my surgeon. I cheated the DAY before! I was so mad at myself. I was still down 15 lbs from the start of the preop and apparently the liver is rarely a problem. It makes it easier on you and the surgeon if it's small as possible during surgery. My surgeon was very understanding. If you cheat, don't go off the deep end and eat just because you cheated. Once you realize your mistake, get right back on the liquid diet and exercise would be more beneficial than a laxative. Not everyone will admit they cheated. We are all human and no one is perfect! Good luck to everyone!

alliemm got a reaction from AngelBaby in Bummed At People's ReactionsI'm sorry your friend didn't understand. I lost 2 "close" friends of mine over my decision. I have another friend who almost mimicked yours, but she has been my most supportive friend. After having those reactions I didn't post to the world on FB about my decision till 2 days before my surgery. I did not get 1 single non supportive comment. It really made up for my first experience about sharing my decision. I wouldn't let anyone's reaction influence your decision, and that's advice to anyone who is receiving mixed reactions. Congrats to your decision to a healthy, happier new you!
