Ready4success got a reaction from thesweetone in Hard Candy?
Although, there is no dumping of a mechanical nature, the sugar alcohols used in some sugar free candies causes dumping due to the chemical nature of the ingredients. If anyone has eaten more than a few pieces, they would have a story to tell.

I was a huge coke drinker. Also a huge coke user (a long time ago in a far off galaxy). Wait don't judge let me finish......I remembered something I heard at a 12 step meeting "try our way for 90 days if you want your old life back it will be there waiting for you" so knowing they would be making coke well into the future I promised 90 days to myself and haven't looked back.90 days out fat was dripping off me like a pig in an oven and I wasnt gonna mess that up . Now I honestly see it for what it is 12 teaspoons of sugar in a can with bubbles and some other crap, gotta pass on that. I guess it comes down to this "nothing is going to change till ya change it" . so to answer your question yes you can; taper off , Water it down , cold turkey. Just decide you will stop and make a plan!

Ready4success got a reaction from vsginnj in Overeating
It's very common during the "decision making" and pre-op phase. In my experience, I went on an all out binge, because psychologically, I was mourning food. It's also referred to as a "food funeral". Some people are able to get control of themselves, and others aren't able to until it's time to start the pre-op diet. I'm sure many people will post with similiar stories. This decision is a big deal, and if you're an emotional eater, it's only natural that you may deal with it this way. Good Luck!

That's what I love about the "Y". There's every age and body type, from a 70 year old grandpa to a 20 year old young co-ed. Seriously though, those grandmas are a beast when it comes to water aerobics, they're "cliquish" too. You have to be a part of the "Cool Kids Club for Seniors".

It's a mother tonight. I've drunk G2, I've mediated, and now I'm trying not to fantasize about food. The sad part is that I can hardly get a protein shake down, so even if I did give in, what would I give in to? Another sf jello? Another yogurt? Disgusted and going to bed.

Lots of people have cheated. Just buck up. Get back on the wagon and pretend nothing happened!
Usually the reason your surgeon puts you on a liquid diet before surgery is to help reduce the size of your liver, which in turn helps make the surgery go easier.
If you did cheat... as long as you didn't eat a bucket of chicken covered in butter you should be OK LOL.
    SHHHHHHHH No one saw anything!

Ready4success got a reaction from Izuri in Intubation
Awake intubations aren't that uncommon. It's usually due to the person's size and body type. For people with short necks, and lots of adipose tissue around their face and chest, it's the only safe way to go. Think of it this way, if you are unsuccessful intubating a patient after you've knocked them out, you now have to mask them until the meds wear off, which is not fun, and can be dangerous if you can't secure a decent airway. Before the awake intubation, the patient is given a little versed to help them relax, and the anesthesia personnel takes a look down their throat with a scope to help guide the tube into the trachea. As soon as they visualize the cords and can guide the tube down, the patient is quickly put under. Although it sounds barbaric, the only other alternative is not having the surgery, because safety always comes first. There have been instances where they couldn't achieve an awake intubation, and anesthesia had to cancel the surgery.

If it's a dark color, then it could be a problem. The pulse ox can usually pick up on lighter shades of polish. If they can't get a reading through your polish, they'll use your earlobe.
