All Sept 12 Sleevers - Are You Ready?

Recommended Posts

Surgery was yesterday. Removed band and revised to gastric seeve. Had to do a hernia/hole repair on my diaphram/esoghus. Sore but no real pain. horriable backache. Drinking Water since yesterday hoping to move to Protein later today. Dr said 2 to 4 weeks liquids because of higher risk of leak but 4 weeks is out of danger zone. Ohh and minimal scar tissue after 3 years out. He was impressed.

Nap time.

Hey fellow sleevers for today, WE MADE IT! Mine was a total success. When HUH says 745 thats what they mean. I arrived at 6 am did my last little paper work, Iv started and @7 i was on ly way back to OR. Spoke with a lot of doctors about anesthesia then my surgeoen, Dr. Tran came asked if I had any last questions, then askwd if we could say a prayer. WOW, I was so impressed with his bedside manner, actually all of them. I wasn't nervous at all, they made me feel safe. In about 5 minutes I was in lalaland! Then the next thing I knew I was in recovery, just a little nausea and very little pain. By noon I was in my room. Now i am just waiting to have foley taken out and start walking. As off right now no nausea and I have hit my PCA (pain med) twice. I hope to have thia continued success for myself and everyone else, we made it!!

Glad to hear all went well for you, my surgery went ok for me as well although the incisions are very painful especially on my left side - I also had a hiated hernia that Dr Veninga had to repair... I've had no nausea though so thank God for that ... They just gave me pain meds for the stomach pains so it's making me very sleepy but judged to give you all an update.... Hope everyone's from the 12th went great & anyone today... God bless

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
