Did Anyone Use An Abdominal Binder After Surgery?

Recommended Posts

Hi did any of you use an abdominal binder after surgery? If so, what ones? Did it rub against the incisions?

I have some but don't think I would like something so tight against my stomach and incisions. The ones I have are a tank top with the binder in the middle and got them from target and Ross. They are Maidenform brand.

i wear a Sweet Nothings cami support thing from Walmart. works pretty good. esp helps keep everything still and gives the biggest incision the support it needs to not hurt at all

I used the binder to protect my stomach bc I have 2 big dogs that sometimes jump on me. It also helped my left incision site when it was really sore from over doing it. :)

I tried to use the one provided at the hospital but I had some sort of reaction to it. I had an itchy rash from bra line to belly button. I even tried using it over my shirt, no go. Which was too bad, I really wanted the extra support.

I plan on using one (my surgery date will be sometime in November). I found a one in the maternity section of target called belly band, that has lycra for support. I used one 6 years ago when I had a vertical hysterectomy and couldn't live without it. This time I won't use such an "industrial" one since I won't have a 6 inch incision, thank the lord! It was a lifesaver for getting in and out of bed at home and standing up straight.

I ended up ordering the

Gabrialla Breathable Elastic Abdominal binder for Women (9" Wide)

It was only $28 on Amazon. I will see how it does. Thanks everyone!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
