Although I have not had surgery yet, I am an old OR nurse & can tell you having an abdominal binder post-op will help with pain, deep- breathing and coughing. If you wait to let the hospital supply you with one, you will likely see it cost $50 or more on your hospital bill.

Depending on your size, you might try looking at Babies-R-Us or similar stores for post-partum binders. I found one yesterday that fit me & was only $19.99!

Yes, I have unearthed my "Belly Band" from my pregnancy 9 years ago and it's standing by. Sometimes being a packrat pays off!

I will ask my dr if I will have an abdominal binder put on me after surgery, if not, I will certainly visit babies-r-us.

This is so very true. I would highly recommend purchasing one up front of your surgeon doesn't put one on you after your surgery.

I bought myself a good old fashioned panty girdle sort of thing... It went from right under my breasts down into a pair of underpants... Very handy and helped with the pain a lot... Highly recommend one...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
