Well I have had severe male pattern baldness since my mid-twenties and since then I have shaved my head. So no worries there.

However, I have just noticed that everytime I look at my shirt, there are 9 or 10 hairs from my goatee/moustache on it. I'll brush them off and in an hour or so, there are new ones. So there's definitely some shedding going on.

When I was on Jenny Craig in the 80's, (didn't work obviously) they gave me a Biotin supplement to take daily that I distinctly remember thickened my hair and nails. I can't remember what the dosage was, but it worked like a charm - it was very noticable.

On my way to get me some biotin! :)

I previously posted the use of nioxin hair products to help strengthen the hair shafts. This was a suggestion of my hairdresser. I went to GNC today and asked about a supplement and they suggested bioton. I noticed that someone posted their nutritionist suggested this as well. So, I am now taking bioton and using the hair products. Along with the recommended Protein by my dr. I am hoping that Hair loss will be minimal.

I lost about 50% of my hair. I had really thick hair but now it is pretty thin. I can see my scalp. But it is growing back like crazy. When I went to get my hair cut she parted it down the middle and I had a little mohawk going down the middle with all the new little hairs. She had to put some oil in it to make it go down. I also waisted a lot of money trying to get it to stop falling out and grow back. But my Dr was right and said it just takes time. I am so sorry for those of you who have not grown it back yet. I hope you find something that works for you. I know how important our hair is to us. Good luck.

I am 12 months post op. my Hair loss started at about 2 months. My weight loss was rapid as I had alot of reflux and bping. I would say that I lost about 50% before it finally slowed and I could see new growth. It is still not back to what I would like, but still rather be slimmer than alot of hair. I am also taking a Multivitamin with folic acid, that seems to help. My weight loss is 266/175 91 pounds.

I'm 4 months in and my hair is falling out. My new nightime entertainment while watching TV is running my hand thrugh my hair and seeing all the strands that are left on my hand. I don't have any bald spots, but if this continues I may.

I had lapband surgery 17 months ago. I have experienced NO Hair loss whatsoever. I have been recently diagnosed with many Vitamin deficiences and find it amazing that I have had no hair loss but I've always had really thick hair. So now I chew 4 Flinstones chewable vitamins and take 2 prenatal Vitamins per day. I found some wonderful prenatal vitamins at Wal-Mart that are small enough to fit through the band. The name is One-Source Prenatal and it is on the aisle with all of the other vitamins. A 60 day supply of 120 caplets costs around $8. I'm also on presciption Foltic vitamins (folic acid and B12). Of course, I am taking all of these vitamins by doctors orders and was told to stay on them indefinitely. Discuss your hair loss with your doctor and perhaps he will do a blood test to rule out a vitamin deficiency. By the way, I am a computer network engineer. I have nothing to gain by promoting the vitamin. Just thought it would be helpful to all of you who need a good vitamin. Good luck.

I have experienced Hair loss to the point of great concern. My hair is fine but I always had plenty of it. I am six months post-op...and although I love my long hair....I'd rather be healthy and thin as have long, curly locks of hair. I try to take my Vitamins and as an extra incentive I add a Biotin tab, but I really can't tell it helps that much. I think as unique individuals we all experience things differently and hair loss (from stress, post surgery, or heredity) is just one of them.

I don't know if there is any difference between girls and guys,

(hair loss issues that is), but I have had no issue with it.

I am fifteen months post op. and have lost 200 pounds without

any hair loss. I did follow the Doctors suggestion and take a

good Multivitamin, and supplement my protien intake daily.

15 months post op,

all time high 430, 230 now

Starting BMI 54, 24 now

At goal:scared:

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
