Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!

Recommended Posts

Yes that's right I did read Killeen. Ok, I will definitely get some. I'm sorry you had trouble with the band perhaps it will be smooth sailing with the sleeve. Have created a myfitnesspal account, if so to can add me? I only created mine yesterday. I think it will be another great tool in deleting FAT! LOL...

Its okay just one of those things...The only thing I can say is good about the band is it taught me how to eat slow small portions so Im sure I should be right on track with eating with the sleeve. I will make an account and add you I put an app on my ipod so I can track calories, exercise etc. Oh yes Im sure it will not only Delete it but send it to infinity and beyond..LOL!!! We are already winning with making a decision for ourselves so on too the next steps in success!!

First day on opti-fast. Threw up almost everything. Kept I vanilla shake and One Bar down. Have had a terrible headache and been in tears. I really hope tomorrow I can keep from vomiting. This is going to be a tough 14 days. Please send prayers my way if you can. Thanks.

I officially start pre-op diet on 10/30 but I decided to start tomorrow and get off this last meal roller coaster. Then I started thinking... Halloween no candy, No alcohol. dinner with friends - nope, Moms 70th birthday party, holiday parties - will still be on puréed foods... Just trying to think ahead and plan for challenges. I keep telling myself it is a new way of living and the liquid diet is temporary. I'm hoping that by my Vegas trip in mid-January it will all be worth it when I fit comfortably in the airline seat!

I thought I would share what my info says:

Days 1-14

-32-60 oz of fluids per day (taken in a one oz shot glass or pill cup)every 10 minutes for 10 hours a day. DO NOT fall behind on Fluid intake.

-Thin fluids only (should fit through a straw, but DO NOT use a straw) broth, sugar free pops and Jello.< /p>

-400-600 calories per day.

-50-70 grams Protein

-minimal carbs (max. 40 g per day) Any Protein Drink you consume should have less than 7g of carbs per serving. If you don't have enough carbs, you may get dizzy

-Fats-from day 1 forward you should have 25-50 grams per day, thereby minimizing diarrhea, gas and bloating

-walk 5-10 minutes every hour

-Wake and walk after 8 hours

Do not lift anything over 10 pounds

My material says 600 calories until you are at goal

I read somewhere about Isopure Protein drink because it is thin.

Isopure Plus Zero carbs-15g of protein

Natures Best Isopure Zero- 40g of protein

These are available at many places but check out "My Bariatric Pantry"

This too is my first surgery ever. During my upper GI they put me to sleep which was a first for me as well. I was scared the days leading up to it. When they put me under all I remember was the Dr saying ok you are starting to fall....and then I was waking up in the other room. Truthfully it was the best sleep I have ever gotten.

The feelings you are having are normal. When I get close to my date I will probably be a nervous wreck. Just concentrate on the positive.

Hello George, it's normal to be feeling anxiety with any major surgery.... I'd be worried if you didn't feel nervous.... with that being said try and focus on why you are having the surgery... think and or write down all the positives that will happen after your recovery. I know it's hard to not be in control, Lord knows I feel the same way most of the time.... take a deep breath, put everything in God's hands... you're gonna do great!

hi Im new on VST Im from Ireland and traveling to Tijuana to get my sleeve done. surgery is on the 19th of November. its really scary traveling around to the other side of the world to get sleeved but to have it here it would cost $22,000 and we don't get covered by insurance for elective surgery even if you are considered obese. ok my name is Sarah Im 31 i have two gorgeous girls 5 and 17 months . i had the lap band. it slipped during my second pregnancy so had to have it removed at 5 months pregnant. since then i have gained 70lb . i was really scared the last few weeks even thinking of canceling but since i have found this site Im much more positive . thanks guys x

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
