1 Week Post-Op Update With Picture
One week post op. I can't imagine that you were expecting some big changes after one week. Cut yourself some slack. You just had major surgery. Your insides are all swollen. Your body is not too happy at this moment. Give your body and your head a few weeks of adjusting. You will be so happy with the choice you made. Repost in a week to tell us all how great you feel. And you will feel great. Promise.

Evidenced Based Medicine?
I've studied this for so long, I feel like an expert. There are a lot of people several years out who have not regained their weight. You stated the risks correctly, but I believe that weight regain is fairly uncommon with a sleeve. I sure hope I am right. Good Luck with your next procedure.

So Upset.......please Need Advice And Input!
In have read in more than a few places that CIGNA automatically declines the firsttime and you have to resubmit it then it will go through. Have you had a sleep study? Having a CPAP machine would count as a comorbidity. Your leg and back pain should count too. Not even a little high BP? What about cholesterol? That counts. do not give up!! You will get there.

Weight Loss Before Insurance Approval?
At 232 I had a BMI of 48!!! I have been losong weight as well. I should be under 220 at my next (and last) NUT visit. I decided that if I lose more than that I'd load up on water before my visit. It's crazy that we worry about losing weight. Just call and ask your doc. Don't worry.

Wow! Congrats! waiting my turn.

Very Small Nsv
That's a major NSV. The thing is, once you know you can handle temptation, the next time will be easier. Congrats.

Hospitalized Last Week.... The Story And More
What a difficult road you've been on. Costco has protien shakes that have 30 grams of protien per serving. They are thin and easy to swallow. I don't detect an aftertaste. Hopefully those meds start to work and you are well soon.

Tsh Level
That sounds unusual to me. I've had thyroid disease since I was 14. No one every used my TSH levels as a deciding factor for anything. It usually takes 4 to six weeks for a full response from your body after use change meds.

Pre-Op And Already Failed... :...(
I agree with 7carol13. Quit beating yourself up. We didn't get in the position to need this surgery without food issues. It is TOUGH! Nothing could be harder right now. Drink extra protien shakes, the higher in protien the better. Fill up on water. Drink lots of herbal teas, hot and cold. Just do one day or even one hour. You can do anything for an hour. Be proud of yourself when that hour is over. Next hour, new goal. You CAN do this.

Hello Chacha1959. You get to dophone consultations? I have to see a nutritionaist for 6 months! I have a few weeks left, Then it gets sent to the insurance company. I think Im looking at mid November for a surgery date. It seems so far away. October will be forever long just waiting. I went shopping with my daughter today. I think she finally might gets it. I wanted a few cute tops for our trip to Italy but they don't make much cute stuff in my size. I just want to be normal!

Traveling Post-Vsg And Managing Protein Needs
Wow. Thanks for this topic. I will be 10 weeks post op when I travel to Viet Nam and Cambodia for two weeks. I didn't know I could pack shakes. I thought I'd be eating hard boiled eggs all through the flight.

Hello! Newbie To Site
Welcome Sunnymama10. I am a newbie too. I have two beautiful duaghters, ages 26 and 28. They are not thrilled that I am doing this, but I am. I am doing it for me. I have a lot of living to do and I just can't stand thinking about doing it as a chub. I sure get the "NO MORE" thought. In the pitch dark, with my friends at our annual girls night sleep over, I don't want to be the one who goes chunky dunking while everyone else goes skinny dipping. And, someday, when I am a grandmother, I want the energy and the good health to play with those babies. Welcome to the losers bench. I am still waiting for approval. I hope you get yours soon.

Happy One Month?
I am a newbie, no surgery yet. I've read your posts and it sounded like you were doing well. What happened? Maybe you are just having a bad day. From what I have read, it's common to be very emotional the first month or so. You've taken a huge step to be healthier and happier. I hope you feel better about your decision tomorrow.
