Mulitvitamins Make Me Sick!

Recommended Posts

Ok, I tried a liquid mulit.. made me sick. I bought the Bariatric Advantage chewables, made me sick. What kind are you all taking? I need something that isn't going to make me throw up each time I take it.

I don't know how far out you are or if you ate able to take pills. I had to get another pain med 4 days out and my doctor had no problem with my request for a pill so long as my sleeve could handle it. It handled it fine and I've been taking all my meds and vitamims/supplements in pill form since. I hope you feel better soon.

I do just the Centrum chewables. Well, actually, I do the CVS "imitation" Centrum chewables which taste even better than the Centrum ones.

I love them. I always take them with a meal to help make sure there are no tummy issues, but I haven't had any problems.

Ok, went to Wally World and bought the One A Day VitaCraves gummies. So far, so good. I just ate two of them about 5 minutes ago and not nauseous yet. The Bariatric Advantage ones make me sick w/in about a minute or two.. no joke. So, how are these as far as Vitamins are concerned? Are they ok?

I couldn't stomach the chewable so my surgeon told me to take capsules. I can get them down ok but have to take them with food or else I'll get nauseous.

The Centrum chewables made me sick so did the Bariatric Advantage. I have been taking the Vitafusion multi gummies. No issues so far. I doubled the dosage to more closely match the bariatric advantage one.

I know exactly where you are coming from! Multivatimins always make me sick. Women's one-a-day, even the prenatal Vitamins. I use to take children's chewable, but they didn't have all of the stuff I needed. I think it is the Iron that makes me sick! But, I'm not entirely sure.

I also get sick taking any Multivitamin on an empty stomach. I have found though that if I take the same Multivitamin right after I eat, I don't get sick.

So I suggest try taking them right after a meal and see if that helps the nausea.

I took Bariatric Advantage during preop, because the doctor's office made the patients buy them (about $500 extra). I gave all of it away since it made me sick too. The last time I got sick to my stomach was the night before surgery after taking the Bariatric Advantage Vitamins. Threw up 3 times that night - awful. If you search this site for Bariatric Advantage, you'll see that you are not alone! Although the doctor's office wanted me to buy more of it after surgery, I flat out refused. Seems like a money-maker for the surgeon's office...

Since sugery, I only take gummy vitamins at night before bed. I've been fine with them.

Glad you're feeling better!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
