I'm the same way' date=' DesertRat. I lose weight so slowly and gain it back so quickly! My problem is that I lose weight all week long but then gain it back with just one meal on the weekend. It's discouraging. I'm thinking that not being able to eat as much will be a step in the right direction. I don't know about you but I get tired of being hungry and thinking about food all the time. I believe that I would enjoy life more if hunger and food weren't such a prominent part of it.[/quote']

Even when I'm eating healthily and at a good weight food seems to take up a lot of thought. I can get on a workable program but it's EZ to get knocked off.

Hello all!

I am so glad I found this forum! I am scheduled to have my sleeve done on July 5th, 2012 and I am nervous about EVERYTHING.

  • Can I do the preop and post op diet?
  • Will I remember to eat?
  • Will I eat too much?
  • Will I make sure I eat the RIGHT foods?
  • Will this help my depression or make it worse?
  • Will I miss eating?
  • Will I lose all my hair?
  • Will I be able to still be social with friends and go out to eat but not really get to eat?
  • Will ppl think less of me because I went this route and didn't just "eat better and exercise" (heard that one already - sheesh),
  • Will I become a drug mule, without me knowing it since Im having it done in Tijuana?

But then I try and think of all the POSITIVE things that will come with it. That's what I am trying to remember ... and lemme tell ya, I have laid in bed at night - crying my eyes out - cuz I know I need to do this, but have my hand on my phone ready to cancel it. (Lorda mercy - just thinking about it now makes me wanna barf.)

Happy to see that the majority of you are extremely happy with your decision and only wish you had done it sooner. Let's hope that will be my case too. :)

I think it might help calm your nerves to see the progression.......just click on the link below or under my photo for BLOG. You'll be fine.......and like you said, there are very few of us who are not THRILLED that we did this. Good luck and let us know how you do.

I don't think I regret it, although there are days when I desperately wish I could have my stomach back. I'm going through a rough time right now, having developed an aversion to all foods and having to rely solely on liquid Protein (I am 8 weeks out). However, everything that I have read, most especially here on this forum convinces me that I did the right thing even though my brain doesn't know it yet. For me, I believe there was not enough psychological prep in the world to prepare me for what I would be going through. This is the hardest thing I have ever done and I can't wait until the day that I can deem it absolutely 100% worth it as I have seen so many others do.

The successes of this surgery far outweigh the failures, even though the failures can sometimes be devastating

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
