Thanks Karey! Oh my gosh, if there could be a show "engagement proposals gone wrong" we would be on it! I am going to cut and paste from my Facebook "The Whole Psycho Story to my engagement" blog because I'm too lazy to type it all out again, haha.

************************************

To those that know me, this will not at all shock or surprise you. Saturday, March 22nd I am having my normal lazy Saturday, Jamie is at work and I am perusing around the Internet from bed. I logged into our bank just to see what was to be paid, and I notice right away that there is a lot of money missing - WHAT THE HELL. I call Jamie and ask where it went, he says he withdrew it to buy a car; The price he told me for the car and the money missing was a couple thousand different than the asking price of the car. I grilled him a bit but let it go for the moment because I wasn’t getting anywhere.

That evening Jamie came home and met up with a guy and sold his car. He wants to go to dinner and tells me to pick something nice - I picked the Texas Roadhouse (not nice but it is what I thought I wanted). I bring up the money again, he then tells me it is in the Supra which is in Greenwood - What idiot leaves that kind of money in a car unattended? So I flip out again and want to go there right then and there to get the money. Jamie somehow talks me into dinner first, pick up car and money after.

We arrive at the Texas Roadhouse, order and the evening is going ok. I tell him we have to go get his car and then take movies back. He then busts out with a confession "I have to tell you something and I don’t want you to get mad" I already know after that statement I was going to be mad... he follows with "I spent that money... but it was a good deal" That is what is said every time he buys a car without consulting me. I was so mad I could have spit fire! I told him we were over, grabbed my coat and purse and stormed out. I was going to leave him there but figured I’d have to go back for him anyway so I went back in and sat down. I demanded we leave, I was taking him home and I was done. I could not trust him, he lied to me, and the psycho rant goes on.

The waiter brings dessert to the table and places it in between us and after he walks away I continue to rip Jamie a new ass. He pushes the dessert plate toward me and I pushed it back "I don’t want any f$#!* dessert" he then pushed it back and again I flung it away but wait a second... there is something on top of the brownie mess.... it sparkles... is that what I think it is? And from bitching in hyper speed I go silent. Oh damn I messed up. There it was the ring I had described many times in all it’s glory and Ive just dumped this man. I am the biggest jerk on earth.

He is smiling, I am tearing and speechless; I am never speechless with him! He then tells me he is not getting on one knee in that shit hole I but does put the ring on my finger and asks "do you want to get married or whatever?" I say yes and then what I was not expecting: THE WHOLE RESTAURANT BREAKS INTO CHEER. Yes, we had witnesses to this whole psychotic breakdown of events. I am completely embarrassed at this point, can’t do anything except smile and try to hide the tears.

I realized that night that there is no other man in this world that knows me better, has seen the best and the worst of me and still continues to love me with everything he is and has. He is an ass sometimes (as am I) and he is difficult from time to time but he does make me happy even if I don’t always realize it. Hell, he knows I’m psycho and still wants to marry me, he’s a keeper!

Hey everyone I am over the hump....The Dr. told me yesterday that I have lost 50% of my body weight and i flipped out, you cannot imagine how that feels unless you made it or are in the process of making it happen. I can now wear a size 12 in pants and I wear a size medium in tops. Tomorrow will be my 8th month banding anniversary. However there is a downside to this, I was admitted to the ER the oher morning and I have a inflamed gallbladder with the stones and all. My surgeon said it has to come out the Dr. in the ER said the same thing but my Dr. said it is too early, go figure. I wish the gallbladder would have been removed during the banding but for some reason it was not.

I only wish all my body parts stayed where they were suppose to!!! I'll post a pic soon. I do hope all is well.

Sharon: Hope your gallbladder feels better soon. I had gall stones for several years with a couple good attacks before I finally went under the knife. I was too scared of surgery. Go figure! Anyway, hope your doing well.

Mom: Congratulations on your progress! YEAH! It feels good doesn't it?! Nice to hear from you.

Hi I just seen this so I better reply to it. Yep gallbladder coming out on June 9, and my surgen that did the band is going to do it for me. I seen another surgeon and well he just scared me to death so once again my Dr. in waco is coming to the rescue. My weight loss is coming right along. I have lost my 100 pound goal and well I still would like to lose another 40 pounds so I made it and all within 8 months being post op. The other Dr. wanted to unfill the band and possibly remove due to it being in his way, well Dr. Sims said no such thing he said it would be no problem. I was so glad to hear that one so word of warning ask questions before any surgery is done because you might end up with out your band. Thanks for the kind thoughts.

Sharon

Sharon: Good luck with your gallbladder surgery. I'm assuming they will do it endoscopically? That's how I had mine removed and it wasn't too bad at all. A day or two of discomfort and you'll be back to your old self. I'll be thinking of you on the 9th!

Anyway up for a weight loss challenge? I really want to get the last 20 pounds off! I need some support!

Hey Everyone, it has been a long time since I last checked in. Well things haven't been going that great lately. Well as of the summer last year, I was down more than 120 lbs. Since then, my surgeon retired, I started seeing a psychiatrist and taking anti depressants, I haven't had a fill in over a year and I've gained about 60lbs back.

When I went for my psychological evaluation before surgery the psychologist told me that she thought I suffered from severe depression and anxiety and that I should see a psychiatrist to help me with it. I had already tried anti depressants through my family doctor but suffered bad side effects from them. Anyhow it took me another year to finally get help. The good thing is the AD have helped me tremendously. However, not only do they curb the bad obsessive behavior but also the good obsessiveness. Since I started on the AD's I've lost all focus on weightloss and just can't seem to get my mind back where it needs to be.

Anyway, I just wanted to share and hope that this is a first step towards getting back to where I need to be.

Cory: Sorry for the difficult time you've had. I've suffered from depression as well and know how difficult it can be. I wish the best. Sixty pounds off is still great. You still have your band and you can still lose weight. That's the great thing about it. Sounds like you need to find a new doctor and get some support. Try and find one with a support group and plan on attending. Get back on lapband talk and find a thread that you like. Losing weight isn't as important as your mental health, but sometimes the two go hand in hand. It might help your depression to feel more in control of some area of your life. When your feeling better you might experiment with another anti-depressant and find one that works better for you. Also, are you exercising? I think that exercise has helped more with depression than anything else I have ever done. It sounds counter intuitive, when you feel like you can hardly move or get out of bed, but if you can find the power deep within yourself to take that first step, I promise it can make a huge difference! Well, I wish you the best. Hope we hear from you again soon!

Hey All! I thought I would check in and see how everyone is doing! I have some news to share; My fiancee Jamie joined the band. He was banded on May 29th and has already lost 30lbs. He's happy and inturn that makes me happy!

Karey: I would love to start another challenge! I just had surgery yesterday but should be back to normal routine in a week. I have been horrible with my eating and exercise, I need to get back on track and the challenges have always helped me with that!

Miriam: Tell Jamie Congratulations! Sounds like he's starting off with a bang! So great! Hope your surgery wasn't anything serious. I'm in North Carolina at Myrtle Beach on vacation. Will be back on June 25th. How about we start a challenge on the First of July? Anyone out there what to join? I want to get the last 20-25 pounds off. How about you? I'm thinking about getting my back side and thighs and arms done. Are you still unhappy with the flatness of your bottom? My doctor said he can put fat back into my bottom to give it more roundness. Of course you can sit of lay on it for 2 weeks! I don't think I'll do it, but maybe. How are the wedding plans coming?

July 1st sounds good to me, I would also like to lose 20lbs or so.

My backside turned out ok in the end; Gravity caught up and rounded it out, haha. I was very unhappy with my thighs and low back above my rear. So Friday I had Lipo above my tush, hips and front/inner thighs. In 3 months or so I will go back again for a medial thigh lift.

We really haven't started planning the wedding yet. All my family is in Canada and all of his is in North Dakota and then we live in Indiana. Deciding location that will keep everyone happy is causing stress so I put it off, haha. I think I just want to run away and elope!

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
