Pain In Hiatal Hernia Repair Area

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on 4-24 and also had a hiatal hernia repair. My sleeve has been extremely smooth and no pain. I stopped pan meds two days after I got out of the hospital. Since the surgery the pain has been in my hernia repair area. I shared this with my dr. at my 2 wk follow-up and shared that puréed food was extremely uncomfortable going down. We decided to keep an eye on it. The day after the pain got so bad that I couldn't wear my bra anymore. It put too much pressure on the sore area. I called today and am scheduled for another swallow test first thing Monday. I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this and has any advice. Thanks!

I was sleeved on 4-27-12. until my 2 week post op, I didn't know I had a hital hernia..Sure, previously I had all the symptoms of GERD etc, etc, but never took the time to be scoped. symptoms were worse the more weight I gained and better when I lost. No GERD symptoms now..yeah hooo

I did have some inital pain with my bra but that has disipated.

Good luck to you, keep us posted.

Mine went great. The only thing was this weird sensation when swallowing it was like it stopped in my throat, then proceeded downward. But never caused any pain

My hiatel hernia repair hurt way worse than the sleeve area...and drinking was uncomfortable. I am 10 days post op and yawning still hurts like heck but I haven't had the discomfort u are describing...I hope it gets better for u soon!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
