I was sleeved on 4-24 and also had a hiatal hernia repair. My sleeve has been extremely smooth and no pain. I stopped pan meds two days after I got out of the hospital. Since the surgery the pain has been in my hernia repair area. I shared this with my dr. at my 2 wk follow-up and shared that puréed food was extremely uncomfortable going down. We decided to keep an eye on it. The day after the pain got so bad that I couldn't wear my bra anymore. It put too much pressure on the sore area. I called today and am scheduled for another swallow test first thing Monday. I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this and has any advice. Thanks!
I am a 4/24 sleeved too! 46 and mom of two hungry teenager athletes. I could use some support buddies. I purchased unjury chicken protein powder online. It was reasonable and tastes good. I have had two today adding 16 oz of water and 42 grams of protein. I sip slowly and it takes an hour but it has been very helpful. I am finding an odd joy in cooking for my kids. They enjoy my cooking so much. It allows me to interact with them and food in a "normal" way while I sip away.
Here's to my first post! I am so excited for surgery on Tuesday. I started my pre-op diet on Easter and have a clear liquid diet the day before. I am struggling with hunger. Any tips for the clear liquid diet day? Would love to chat with others going through this process at about the same time and always appreciate the wisdom of our experienced sleevers. Thanks!
