I'm 200 now and I'm 5'1". My goal is 130. I picked that # because I remember getting down to 135 a long time ago and feeling really comfortable at the weight. I took off 5 more lbs for good measure. I'll see how I feel when I lose the weight. I would even be thrilled with 140 at this point. I can't wait! Exactly a month to go!

I'm on my way to the docs to get my date :). Can't wait to have an official verses sometime in August lol.

Qotd.....I'm 5' nothing and looking to hit 108 to 110....wait, not hoping...planning :). That puts me in a healthy bmi and a comfortable weight range. I've been down below 100 but it was always a bugger to maintain so I'm thinking that's just too small for my frame...we'll see what the doc says today :).

QOTD - I just want a normal BMI. At just under 5' tall, the high end of a normal BMI would be 125. That goal is 225 pounds from my heaviest so it quite frankly seems unattainable at this point, but a girl can dream.

Glad to know I'm not the only shorty on here. Once when I was at the doctor's office, they told me I was 5'1", but I think they made a mistake. I measured myself the other day and I was barely 5'. With that being said, my goal, at this point, is 125. I have chosen it because when I reached that weight at 15, I was the slimmest I had been or ever would be post-puberty, and it was a struggle to stay there, but I wore about an 8 or 10 pant, so I could live with that. Would I like to be smaller, yes, but healthy is the most important thing. My fourteen year-old is 5'2", is in the 130s and wears a 6, and she is just perfectly sized. She and I are built similarly, so if I were about her size, I would feel really healthy. Would I love to be really petite, yes, but I am "full-figured" girl, even at my lowest weight, so I am not sure I will ever be "petite". Funny thing is that even at 125, I felt fat. I think a number of reasons for that come into play. When I was a girl, in my family, appearance was everything and the scale was used as a barometer, which doesn't make any sense for me, because most of the other women in my family are tall, so it's like apples and oranges to compare. Also, I think I felt fat, because of the diet and food choices my family made, such as all of the southern cooking that went on. Did we have vegetables? Yes, as long as they were either white (e.g. potatoes) or fried (e.g. okra, green tomatoes, etc.). Okay we had green Beans too, as long as they were cooked with a ham-hock! See what I mean? So I wonder if eating all of those carbs, that I am now addicted to and try to stay away from to have any degree of control, as a kid caused me to feel out-of-control, and therefore fat, even when I wasn't. Any way thanks for letting me rant! :D

I am starting my pre-pre-op liquid diet today, instead of at 10 days out, that way I can make any adjustments I need to before the official day.

So, three weeks from today....! :D :D :D

Qotd-it's funny when my surgeon asked me this question I just stared at him with my mouth open. I'm having such a hard time wrapping my head around possibility of not being morbidly obese! First goal, get RID of that word MORBID from my diagnosis. I remember the first time I saw that in my chart. I felt sick!

Anywho, I am 29. I weigh 255. Started this process around 263. Last time I was below 200 I was 17. I remember weighing 175 and feeling good about myself. So I know it's on the higher side, but for now that's my goal. Will readjust as necessary.

Anyone else having a hard time wrapping their head around all of this, and the fact that we ARE going to Lose weight??

I'm so grateful for this site and all of you!!

My new life will be the beginning of the firsts. QOTD: I'm 5'2 my goal weight is 135. My start weight is 270,135 is half of me. But I would love to be 115-120.

Today is my preop appointment. I didn't lose the whole 15 pounds the doctor asked me to. I lost 11. I hope it's good enough. I'm so nervous.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
