Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

M scheduled for my surgery April 26th and I was curious to see who else would be walking in the shoes of April with me. Tell me how you feeling? What's on your mind? Any worries? Second thoughts?

can I ask what everyone eats in a typical day ? I haven't really lost weight in the last 3 weeks i been keeping my body in ketosis and am in a stall well not really a stall but i have gained 4 lbs i mite consume around 1000 calories a day and 15-25 carbs a day. Drinking plenty of water so idk any suggestions? lots of people have lost so much in the last few months i am 55 lbs down and still have alot more to go at least another 50 and yes i am working out. Help I know i am venting

It really sounds to me like you are not eating enough in total calories or in protein. Protein should be a minimum of 45 but 60 is better. A boost in your calories might also be in order since you are working out. Your body may be saying it isn't going to give up more unless it gets more fuel.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi April sleevers! It's been a couple of weeks and I have lost 51 lbs. As of today my BMI is 29 which means I am no longer obese! I'm just overweight. I'm so excited!! I need to lose another 22 lbs before I can be considered a "normal" weight! What a great journey this has been. I hope everyone else is doing equally well!

I can't wait until I'm overweight!! Ha Ha...us WLS patients are probably in the minority who can honestly say being jist overweight is a mighty good thing....on the road to success!

Hi all! I was sleeved on April 10th and have only lost between 47 to 49. I keep losing and gaining to same 3-4 lbs. I have up my protein, workout, and water and still no change. I have increased and decreased my calories. I track everything I eat and still in the 6-7 week stall. Maybe this is it for me:(

I am the exact same way. I was sleeved on April 19. My highest was 262 and now I'm between 202 and 205. i can't seem to make the scale move, although my clothes are looser. I have my 6 month appt next week so i'll see what they say!!

We are all different and no one should be discouraged. Look how far we have come in 6 months!!! Ever since I hit around 200 I have been going VERY slow on the scale!! I am down to 195ish and that is right around 65 pounds lost. But, my clothes fit different...so different in fact, I have very few pre-surgery clothes left and all my new clothes are from the regular department!

Everyone is doing AWESOME!! Look past the numbers and focus on your other successes!!! April Sleevers, we rock!!!!

Sleeves 4-24-12 starting weight 375. Current weight 250.7. Lost 124.3. In a stall now. Having a hard time resisting temptations.

You are definitely girls after my own heart! I was sleeved 4/23 and have lost a total of 47 lbs. It's been slooowwww going. I finally got out of the 170s; I thought I was going to lose my mind if the scale didn't move. Some days i have a norm appetite, others I can even forget to eat for the whole day, and some days I'm hungry from morning til night! I would be very happy to reach a goal of 140 or even lower.

Birds of a feather.....

Starting weight 255 sleeved April 28th. At 200. Scales are up and down. I am pleased to be in a 14 was in a 20. Would love to see 199. But I am grateful and feel healthier.

Sleeved 4/4/12

Started at 246

Today I'm 175- total of 71lbs lost

Goal is 145- 30 lbs to go

Weight is slowly coming off- avg of 1.5lbs/week. Just gotta lay off those carbs and the sleeve sure works for me!

I have not had a good month so far in October. I have been 250 to 252, up and down, up and down this whole month. I am trying to fret as it seems like a lot of us are experiencing a stall at this time, so maybe this is just more the norm and this point in our journey.

I continue to eat healthy, make good decisions and I have increased my exercise (walking 2.5 to 3 miles at lunch) now that the weather has cooled off. I had a nightmare last night that I had huge bald Patches at the back of my head and was going to spend the weekend shopping for a wig!!! Woke up, felt the back of my head and while my hair is still getting quite thin, it was at least, not bald...yet!! I did not used to be able to feel the hairbrush bristles on my scalp, now I have to be careful that I don't "rake" my scalp and hurt myself my hair has gotten so thin. I know this too shall pass as I can already see the new hairs growing in in places that it is extremely thin.

I am able to eat salad now as long as I chew really well. I top the greens with tuna or egg or chicken that I have baked. It is really good. It was such a day of celebration when I tried salad and it sat ok in my tummy. I LOVE salad, so this was a major food item for me to get back to. Has anyone else tried salad? If so, how did it go and what Protein do you eat with yours?

We all are doing a great job and we just need to hang in there through the stall. I am glad that we still continue to post our updates here because like a few others, I was glad to see I was not the only one in a stall at the moment. Hang in there everyone and I will do the same.
