  1. I called my ob-gyn and told him about my hormone rages. He changed my hormone replacement (hysterectomy) to a lower dose. We store hormones in our fat and with less fat I was overloaded. I will tell you all if it works but I do feel more aware of my attitude. It was good to say it out loud
  2. Anyone else loose your patience recently? I never had road rage or said exactly what I was feeling with the irritation I have since surgery. Lately I have made an employee cry, insulted my mother (we are really close) and yelled at another driver. I hate feeling like this
  3. I was just talking to my mom about being scared of food last week. I am making an appointment to see my therapist and going to group this week but this post has made me feel better. Not alone! I don't want to eat bad food and fitness pal has helped but I am nervous about eating out, what to order, people looking at what I don't eat! I use to eat my feelings and I don't want to fall back into that
  4. I made it to 195 a few days ago but didn't want to believe it! Yeah!
  5. Not supportive at all! I have supportive family and friends around me. They may not believe in the procedure, but they believe in me. Last week I opened the freezer and saw Ben and Jerry's, I almost cried until I looked at the label. Not one I would like. My mom said "I would never buy something you liked, that is just cruel". That is what you need around you, people who want good things for you
  6. I work in retail, store manager and originally took 2 weeks off. I went back last week for half days and was hurting afterwards. I think it really depends on you, but 6 weeks seems like a long time to me.
  7. Reading your story, it is so much like mine. Same day surgery too! I had a hysterectomy when I was 28 (endometriosis). I asked about the HRT and my doctor didn't think it would effect weight loss. I have lost 26 since pre op and the last few days I gain a pound then lose it the next day. So frustrating! I am also so sick of the protein shakes I have been drinking. Let me know what you think of the Sams club
  8. I use to drink a cup of black coffee every morning but since surgery I get sick at the smell. I have started to drink tea instead. I miss my coffee!
  9. I have days where I am full and then days like today where I am SO hungry!!! I called my dietician today to make sure I was doing ok and not over eating. She went through my diet and stressed that I need a lot more protein. I am averaging about 40 grams and need to be at 60. I hope that if I can choke down more than 1 shake a day I will feel less hungry. Really beating myself up today!
  10. So I can smell things I couldn't before and my taste buds are weird. For example I had a strawberry Popsicle and could taste peanut butter with it...crazy! I take 2 showers a day now and can't seem to feel clean in my butt region?
  11. I had the pain in my rib last week. From what I read it is due to the instruments in there during surgery.
  12. I had it on day 3. I was sobbing, it was terrible! I came home that day and it changed everything. I do have depression but not like that! I was so happy to be home with my pets. Find your happy place, it will pass. If it doesn't in a week, I would call your doctor
  13. I am 12 days out and feeling pretty good except I think I over did it yesterday. I felt great so I changed my sheets and vacuumed the carpets. Today I have pain in my stomach in the center. It isn't fall over pain but I feel it when I move around. Anyone else have this?
  14. If I didn't have my mom taking care of me, I probably wouldn't eat enough! I am a store manager and need to go back next week for mothers day but I don't think I will last all day. I have an office day Monday but after that I am expected to be on the sales floor. I might not be able to go back as soon as I hope. Don't I need to be awake and active to gain strenghth?
  15. Hello Everyone I am 9 days post op and feeling ok. I had a pain in my rib for a few days but was told it was normal from where the instruments were during surgery. My worry is I have been sleeping 10 hours at night. I haven't slept that much in a long time. I don't nap during the day because I am restless. I go back to work on Monday and hope I can last all day. Anyone else going through this or been there?
  16. No. Dr Gibbs is my surgeon in Little Rock. Have you had your surgery?
  17. I was sleeved on April 23 and tomorrow I get to start on purée. I have never been so excited to have mushed up chicken in my life. Hope my gag reflex doesn't kick in!
  18. Hello I just had surgery in Little Rock on the 23rd. Who was your doctor?
  19. Great! Something to look forward to!
  20. Have been out of the hospital for 3 days now and the day I was released I had a normal colored bowel movement. Since then all have been clear and snotty looking. Anyone have the same and is it normal?
  21. Hello everyone I am new here. Was looking for anyone who has been home a few days and has a low grade fever. Last night it was 100.7 and went to bed early. It broke and I am down to 98.9. I am exhausted today and my mom has been forcing me to eat( well slurp)! I HATED being in the hospital! I felt like I was bothering them to go to the bathroom. They also took 3 hours to print my paperwork after my doctor released me! I think fear of going back didn't help me last night, I started to sob, ugh! I just want to know I am not alone! So silly but my emotions have doubled since the surgery. I know it was the right thing to do. I was overweight and un healthy, but I doubt having something so permanent.
