i couldnt swallow the burger can you please read carefully ?

I think you are being very hostile to people trying to help you but my first thought was as some others - why are you even trying to eat a cheesburger 7 weeks out? I haven't had surgery yet but even I know better.

I haven't read the whole thread but this sounds like someone trying to stir up some drama.

Now I understand why some surgeons want patients to under a psych evaluation first.

I am nine weeks out and I have tried to eat some hamburger (1 to 2 ounces) on two occasions. Neither one worked. Many people who have this procedure can no longer handle hamburger or red meat in general. I can eat chicken and that seems to be the only meat I do consume. I know you may feel that many people on here went into attack mode, but I truly believe it was more concern for you than anything. No one want to hear about someone making "bad" choices so early on after surgery. Remember that O.J. is high in calories and that maybe you should look for other non or low calorie options. Over time you will be able to get more food in and even though you are losing weight now, you may not be able to lose if you have those extra calories from the OJ. I am still unable to drink plain Water so I drink crystal lite Decaf. Iced tea. It seems to go down well. But, here's the most important thing....no one can tell you what you should do or force you to do it. You need to find your own path. Best of luck with your sleeve. I hope it gets better for you.

I hate people that say stupid things just to see who and what wthey can get riled up. Way to abuse an informative, supportive forum for people going theu the biggest change of their lives!!!

I got that impression now too. As a newbie here I didn't get it til I started reading more into it. But never know, maybe there are some people that are this uninformed? Hopefully not but ....

How sad.

What does being a medical student do for this person? Make them look more like a jerk!

As a nurse, I have made sure I was even more informed of this surgery and have been very complient. We are suppose to be role models and be helpful and informative. I find this appalling. Get your self more educated before posting such garbage. Hopefully you are doing much better! I don't intend to offend you, but it just looks uneducated to state what you did.

We are all here to help one another, but we strive to do this in a more positive way.

Please take care.

While I agree this thread is probably a troll thread, i needed to say that not everyone has to go through hoops. I was self pay so after researching online and talking to friends who have had the surgery, just made my mind up, found a surgeon and three weeks later was sleeved. No need for seminars, approvals, psych evaluation, and onle two appointments. One with my surgeon and one with a nut she recommended and I chose to see.

Why does it say this member is banned? Although most of us on here can't say we agree with his comment- it IS a valid point. I think that many doctors want money first and down play the bad sides of the surgery. I do not regret my surgery, but I honestly didn't realize the restriction I would have at first. My doctor and NUT mislead me....point blank, and this person may have experienced the same thing. I researched all the success of the surgery and hardly focused on the downfalls because I didn't want to psych myself out.

To the poster, just give yourself some time. I can eat half a Peanut Butter and jelly sandwich when I am being a "bad girl" and I am 8 weeks. BUT for the most part I eat good-for-me foods and I am learning slowly how to be a normal person and be a sleeve patient. It just requires patience. You'll be fine.

I would imagine it's because # 1 he is a troll or # 2 his attitude towards anyone that posted replies pretty much sucked.

Ya, I'm sick of this stupid sleeve telling me what to do!

I wanna go back to ordering one large pizza for me and the other one for my family.

I wanna go back to buying my clothes at the Goodwill because I'm off the rack in retail stores.

I wanna go back to puffing like the little engine that could every time I climb the stairs to my bedroom.

I don't need no stinking operation ordering ME around!

I went to college!!!! B)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
