California Sleevers.....

Recommended Posts

Hi Solo,

Dr. Dutta was my doctor, and he was wonderful. I really liked the doctor who did the orientation too, he was so outgoing, Dr. Dutta is more quiet, but really nice. He's always been quick to answer my questions. (I email him with them). The nicest thing is that I totally lost my composure in the operating room and started crying and he was so kind.

Also check out his background, ivy leauge schools and all that. I don't regret him at all!

Perhaps we'll cross in the office some day. ;)

Would really like to hear back from anybody who has found a doctor in So Ca who is willing to work with patients who had the surgery in Mexico? I went to my GP yesterday and she was dead set against any wls. I didn't even tell her I was planning to go to Mexico. :)

What is everybody doing with regards to this? Dr. Kelly told me he'd consider me local and I could do follow ups there but haven't outlined any details yet because this is so new and I'm scheduled a few months from now. Would really like to hear from others on this...

There are whole forums for this info. Range is about $5500 to $10K depending on the doctor. It seems like most people are having really good experiences! That's the only reason I'm considering it.

Sacramento here, I went to Dr Alli at UC Davis Med center. They do follow ups to keep records, and address my skills to support success (Nut visits, psych visit at 2 weeks, 3 months, 6 months one year two year), but my regular GP could to this too... she does blood tests for me and is generally supportive. I think the blood tests are the most important. If you have an emergency, theres always the emergency room. Does your med plan have an advice nurse you can call with questions?

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
