My Nut explained it to me like this: our food intake changes so drastically that our bodies kinda freak out and place all of our nutrients and energy into our life preserving organs like brain heart lungs etc etc. Our hair is not needed to live so our bodies dont care for it. When our bodies finally figure out that our new low intake is normal and we aren't going to starve our hair will get better. She said taking in our protein can help but it varies by individual. I'm not going to lie, I was in pain but everyone is different. Each day brings remarkable improvement. Don't be scared, it's just a small moment in time and the sleeve is worth it. Good luck to you.

I'm 5'1". Had no Preop diet requirement but dieted a week before. Started at 215. Was 208 day of surgery. Sleeved 5/24 so I am just over 3 weeks out. I am currently 192. I may be on my 3 week stall because I haven't lost anything for 4or5 days. I'm ok with that. I had a few bumps right after surgery. Went back to work this last week. I felt good just a little tired. Going to start going to the gym this coming Monday to help weight loss and get over the stall.

I am a Fresnonian but I did not have my surgery at Kaiser. My sister had bypass with Kaiser three years ago. I went through Advanced Bariatric Centers with Dr. Felix. My surgery was at Clovis Community. Would love to share experiences.

Feeling pretty good. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since surgery and I am 13 lbs lighter

Ok I'm here! I'm checked in and waiting to be called back. I'm not nervous... I'm excited. I want to get the surgery done and get past the first month. Yay!

EAS cardadvantage is the first I prefer then the premier from Costco. I don't care for the vanilla shakes in any brand. I stick to chocolate.

Congrats on the surgery! Your spirits are high and that is the best thing you can do in my opinion. I to am having major pain, however mine is on the right side, I have been fine the first 2 weeks after surgery but the last few days, this pain had come on. Hurts to breathe, move, talk and eat all I'm this right side (not attached to any incisions) by two weeks, I bet you will be ready for work. Keep up your great attitude and I wish you continued success!

I am 3 days post op and I'm doing okay. I had to stay in the hospital one extra day but after doing so I can tell I needed it and it was all good. I still feel pretty rough but I took two weeks off of work so I'm sure when the time comes I'm sure I will fine. The one thing that is keeping me moving pretty slow is a pain on my left side. I think it is just a pulled muscle or something. I am having no problem getting my liquids or protein in at this point. If I gulp I can feel some pain but I can take in a little more than a sip. I tire super easily. I get up, move around, use the potty, and I'm ready to rest. I fall asleep at a drop of a hat but its only for about 20-30 minutes. Overall I am doing pretty and am very happy

Delta, we are all here for you. Things will be just fine. Trust in God, trust in your surgeon, and trust in yourself and dont forget to Breathe. Support is what this forum is all about and we need you as much as you need us. I, we, Look forward to hearing about all of your wonderful progress. Ok all of my new found friends....I did it... I called the insurance. It's been APPROVED!!! Yay!! The insurance company can't fax the letter though. It has to go through the mail and it can take up to two weeks. At least we are over the approval hurdle next step is to get the pre surgery stuff out of the way and move on to a surgery date... Yay!!

I'm a May Sleevers!! I'm so excited to say that! I've been reading this forum for a couple of months now and hear all the exciting news and now I get to be a part of it. I'm in Fresno, CA. My stats are 5'2" 215 ilbs 37 (almost 38) years old. Would love a sleeve buddy!!

I love this thread. It's great to hear all that stats. I hear all of these huge weight stories then realize everyone is a lot taller than me! Great to hear about all the shorties I am 5'2" currently 210 and having surgery May 24th. I can't wait!

Well now I am 12 weeks post op and I am down 54 pounds so far. I am so glad that I made this decission to be a more healthier me. I have so much more energy now and I can walk like I couldn't before.. I am still tired lots I just don't think I am getting enough protien in me. Had some blood work done yesterday so we will see!

May 24th!! Whoot Whoot. Doing the happy dance!!
