January 2012 Sleevers!

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! Just wanted to tell all of you that are waiting to be sleeved, good luck!

I am one week out and have been having a few minor issues. Everything that goes in comes out, not vomit if you catch my drift. I called my doctor today and he said he wants me to start with the mushies (scrambled eggs and cootage cheese and such) on Saturday instead of waiting. He thinks it is from being on the liquids too long. I never thought I would be SO excited about eating eggs and cottage cheese. LOL! The pain is getting MUCH better and easier to handle. I haven't taken anything for it in about three days. I am having a HUGE issue with trying to get Protein in. I just can't stomach the drinks! YUCK!

I feel your pain! I have been having a rough time with the shakes, also. You're so lucky to be able to have eggs! I had to do 3 weeks of liquids. I am SO ready to chew something. I'm not the biggest egg fan, but it sounds like to STEAK to me now! Broccolli sounds like pizza! LOL! 5 more days and then I can move to soft foods.

I have been through several different shakes, but I am drinking the costco Protein Shakes now. They taste a lot better, not as thick. It is getting me through this last week before I can start getting protein from food. It has 30 g of protein in an 11 oz shake. Good luck to you!

My doctor's office suggested and I have also seen on someone's post here that if you are having trouble getting your Protein in post-op then try the Protein Shots. I know they have fruit punch and grape flavor at Walmart. They have very high protein. The fruit flavor has 20 something and the grape that I saw has 40 something grams.

I have four more days until my new journey begins. Boy, I can't wait for everyone in the January 2012 Sleevers forum to be finished with surgery next week and get to be together on the loser's bench!

I'm three full days out from surgery and kind of starting to feel human again. Comparing how I feel today to how I felt yesterday is like night and day! If you're just coming out of your surgery, hang in there. You'll start coming around in no time.

I totally get you Tenshi, I do not deal good with pain and it was a disaster.

Well It is my 4 th day out today had a little bump on the road, but have now refocused on the thing I need for me to successful. I haven't lost any weight now, hope that's normal. I am sipping Water throughout the day and having the Isopure Protein and kefrin yogurt. So far today: two ounces of protein, two of yogurt and four of water. Little steps I guess.

It is definitely all about the baby steps, 4mykids. I went from barely being able to sit up without discomfort to walking the borders of my local superstore yesterday. I guess it all depends on how quickly your body wants to repair itself, too. I've always been a rather quick healer, so I'm very lucky there. Even if it takes you an extra week to get there, you will. :)

Hi Everyone,

I had my surgery on the 14th and it was an incredible experience. I went to Mexicalia and Dr. Aceaves was the dr. who performed the surgery. I feel great and am down 15 lbs. so far. I hope all that are waiting for their date have a great experience like I did. Being new to the forum could someone tell me how to get a tracker on my profile?

Yesterday, 4 days post op, I was sooo bored with Clear Liquids. I tried an Unjury chicken broth. It is really good, tastes like Lipton cup-a-soup, started drinking it faster than I should, OWWW! got halfway through, and could drink no more.

Note to self...LITTLE sips!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
