Hi everyone! I'm new to the forums. I just got my surgery date, November 30th. Excited, scared, anxious, worried..all of these emotions simultaneously. I keep reminding myself that this is a marathon and not a sprint.

Hi HD, my date is November 30th too. I guess this is my official de-lurking post ;-)

I've been working through this process since April of 2010 -- medical, dietician, psych & more medical visits & evals, a 12-week healthy eating class, and finally approved by insurance. Can't believe it's finally a go.

I was afraid of the surgery ending up right around the holidays and lo and behold that's exactly what happened... but I guess that's how it's meant to be.

I'm feeling all the same feelings that you are!

I am going with Dr Almanza. I fly into San Diego on the 28th at like 3pm. You flying that way too?? man I wish we had the same doctor. I am going by myself and I am more worried about that than the whole surgery itself..lol

Anyway I just wanted to share my date with everyone with hopes to following everyones progress as we go through this journey together. Also I just found out I will need a catheter... so not looking forward to that. Anyone guys on here experience a catheter in surgery?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
