OCTOBER 2011 SLEEVE ROSTER

Recommended Posts

Hello, Phyllis. A 'bump' means it moves the topic to the top of the forum.....it's 'bumps' it up. You can just type a comment, but it's more fun to do a smiley! Our roster list was getting lower and lower and i wanted to move it up so our new October Sleevers couls find it. All is well on this end!!

Hi Chris:

Just wondering what your blinking "Bump" picture means in your last post. Are you okay?

Phyllis

hopeful that's really early!!! yeah my focus has switched to just focusing on getting through surgery. I umderstand what you mean about the diets smh they never last long term! wow I had no idea you were 66, I can only imagine how much harder life has been for you.im going to look for that book also love hearing about others experiences. My family youtubed the surgery they started. getting so worried they thought the bigger portion of my stomach stays inside me I said nooooooo lol are you crazy! im just glad they're being so supportive of me. I will be sure to share my experience with everyone wish you bunches of luck<3

Glad you are holding up okay. Don't worry now about people changing now. Just think about getting through the surgery tomorrow beautifully and coming out on the other side when the worst part will be over! That is what I am thinking. My surgery is scheduled at 8am and I have to be at th hospital at 5:45 am tomorrow morning!!! This means I have to wake up at 4 am!!! I am happy to have it in the morning so my this time tomorrow I will be (hopefully) be in recovery waiting to go to my room and see my friends!

Hey October Sleeves!

I got home from the hospital yesterday afternoon. Everything went smoothly. Just having a hard time with the gas & making sure I am getting enough liquids. I know it will get better, just trying to soldier through this week.

Hi October Roster Sleevers!

Just checking in. Came home today after being sleeved on Monday, 10/17. Everything went very smoothly with expected pain, but nothing intolerable (with morphine, that is! ha, ha) Hope everyone who is getting ready has as easy a time as I had. Very straightforward with no complications. Now I am challenged with a new way of eating. It is amazing how long we can go without eating, isn't it?

All go things and thoughts to you all!

Phyllis

Welcome to the Losers Bench! And glad your surgery went smoothly. I also was sleeved on Oct 17 up here in Boston at Mass General and had a "smooth" surgery which doesn't mean, of course, without pain. But, being 66 years old, I was happy to get through this without complications! Today I am slowly sipping and sipping. It is my first day of adding full liquids (such as Protein Power and skim milk) to my clear liquid diet. I am just on Breakfast, but at this rate, it will probably take me all day just to eat my meals! LOL

Keep in touch and let us know how you are progressing.

Had surgery on the 17th, things went pretty smoothly :)

goodluck to everyone being sleeved today! the worst part for me was when I woke up in recovery sore throat i felt like a fish out of Water my first words were thirsty lol I was in pain level 8 but as everyone says with each day you get better the hard part will be over then its all about just following surgeons orders I promised myself no matter how much pain im in I would not come on this forum complaining with any type of remorse to possibly discourage any other future sleevers im basically 3 days post op && feeling more stronger && alert each day so once again goodluck all god bless<3

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
