I am such a ball of nerves especially for the fact that my surgery is not until at least 5 pm tomorrow...what to do all day? Anyway, i have never felt so many emotions at one time. How did everyone deal with "the day before" jitters? Thanks all.

I wasnt scared or jittery at all I was just so excited that it was finally happening. I did have alot of emotion but I was so happy to be beginning my new life journey. Don't be scared this is all still fresh to me. I just had my surgery on Tuesday Sept. 6th. I feel great and honestly if i didnt have the surgery sites i wouldnt even feel like i have had surgery. I never used the pain meds I had filled. The worst thing is this liquid diet to me its harder after surgery because your just so tired of the shakes. I hate that you have to wait until 5 pm why is he doing a surgery so late in the day? Just don't worry its going to be A O.K. and i will be here you can message me anytime you want hun.

Haha, sat with my boyfriend and mom and worried. My surgery was pushed back to 1:00 p.m. from 11:30 a.m. Bring something to read or to play with to take your mind off it a little depending when you have to get to the hospital.

I don't even have a surgery date yet -- probably at least 2-3 weeks out -- and I'm already nervous and anxious. It's always on my mind. Can't focus on anything else. I'll be glad to "get'r done". Best of luck with your surgery. I'll be praying for you.

I cleaned and cleaned is about what sums my waiting up. Moved things around to make it easier when I came home. Hang in there, we will save a seat for you. :D

Good luck tomorrow! All best wishes. Sorry you are so nervous, but I totally understand. I am nervous NOW and I am not having my surgery until October 17th! Don't know what I will be like the day before. BUT you see, you will be all finished then and will be able to respond to my hysterical post for support by telling me "Oh, it isn't ANYTHING!!"

I will be thinking of your tomorrow. All good things!

Put the worries aside. You will do great.

I am having my surgery tomorrow as well. I am excited. I am not nervous at all. Maybe that will change tomorrow.

I will keep you in my thought. Good luck to us both.

My surgery was 9/6 and I remember having anxiety up until my surgery time.

The pain afterward was a bit more than I expected and made me have

A bit of buyers remorse initially. But, that was just the pain talking. Just

take 1 day at a time. Sip, walk and take ur meds if u need them. I feel better

every day. I cant wait to have semi solids though. Hang in there.

Good luck to all of those having surgery tomorrow. It's my birthday, so I know you'll all do great!!! :) I was sleeved on Aug 30, so I'm almost 2 weeks post-op and doing great! I was nervous a couple of weeks before surgery and went through all of the worst case scenario stuff in my head. Then I sat down and did what I could to make sure all of that stuff was handled. The weekend before, I picked up a good friend and we spent the time doing things to keep my mind off the surgery (movies, listening to old music, walking the beach). I don't remember being jittery at all the day before. I felt almost strangely calm, probably because I had handled anything that could be an issue earlier.

I do remember feeling like it was totally surreal when I was going into surgery, like it really wasn't going to happen. I was worried that I'd wake up wishing for my mom afterwards, but when I woke up, I said "Really?" and the nurse asked me "Really, what?".

FWIW, I had some pain, but I didn't think it was too intense, probably a 2-3 for me. My legs actually hurt a good bit once I started walking because I was using them instead of my tummy muscles to pull myself up when I stood up. Get up as soon as possible, concentrate on doing the breathing exercises and walking. Both will help with the gas pain (if you have any) and will get you a jump start on the weight loss. I found that sitting up in the hospital chair was more comfortable than being in the bed. IMO, the bed was too darned soft!

Let us know how you're doing. I've felt more energetic since I've been home than I have been in years, probably. Good luck to you all!

Thanks! I am happy to hear that your surgery was succesful and you are feeling better. Congrats! It sounds like your experience wasn't too bad at all. I hope I am as lucky. I will be joining you on the other side tomorow. Can't wait!

OH! I hope you have a fabulous birthday tomorrow!! Enjoy and happy birthday!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
