Hello, my name is BJ and I have just completed my Dr. evaluations and have 2 more monthly visits with my surgeon. My insurance company requires a 90 waiting period====so my Dr. believes that I will be having my surgery in October. He has requested that I "get rid of" 20-30 pounds before surgery. I have purchased Protein Shakes, cut out raw sugar and am now using splenda. I am doing all that I can to help myself be successful once I have had my surgery. It's nice to be a part of this VSG community. I have also begun uploading videos on youtube so that I can document my journey to being sleeved. The videos I watched prior to posting were so beneficial so my prayer is that I will be able to do the same.

Thank you for this community

Best of luck on your journey.

You may want to start cutting back on carbs, especially bread, Pasta, rice, etc. They won't be on your menu after surgery.

The waiting IS the hardest part.

I agree waiting is the hardest part! I have found this site to be very helpful. If I have a question, usually someone has already asked it and it has been answered. It's a great support tool.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
