I'm 13 months out and I've lost 142 pounds......only 7 pounds away from my personal goal and I'm so excited.

Congratulations Nikki!

For those of us still under a year since our surgeries, how do you keep the weight coming off? I have heard so many stories of people hitting plateaus. I don't want to hit a wall.

I am some what new to this forum. I have been a observer/reader of your posts and have to admit this group seems to be lot friendlier then some of the others I have read. Especially one I read this morning. It was one under tell "Your Story", can I say crazy and somewhat mean. But that is that forum. All I wanted to say congrats to all of the March sleevers. This is our month when our journey to a new us begins.

Congratulations!!! Where are you having it done?

Thanks! i'm having it done at Riverside Hospital in Newport News. I work for Riverside and have their insurance so it was mandatory I go there. Not that I am complaining though.

I didn't even know Riverside had a Bariatric program. That's great! I'm happy you have a date.

Hi All...

Just wondering what other avenues for research are being used...i.e. YouTube, OH. Sometime reading some post become a bit overwhelming for me. I am on FB but only 2 people there know I have considered having WLS. This page is for my Undergrad Classmates...so on day I'm going to be like.."Boom" at Homecoming! LOL

Seriously this is for my health! Showing the 'Rediscovered' me at Homecoming is just a '+'.

Hi Lyn,

I am in the Atlanta area so there are several bariatric surgeons in the area. I plan to visit some of their WLS seminars when I get a chance. Also, a most of them have support groups so talking face to face with others may be helpful as well.

The Riverside Bariatric program is new as of mid 2011. Riverside insurance for employees just started cavering WLS this year. I guess they realized they couldn't provide a service that an employee couldn't get covered by the Riverside owned, Healthkeepers insurance!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
