It will get better daily. Try sugar free Popsicles to keep hydrated. They work wonders.

Hello everyone. My name is Moni & I'm 37 with 4 sons. I had lapband in March of 2009. I lost 60lbs but gained it all back while pregnant with my last baby. I have noticed that it has become more difficult for the MD to fill my band as needed to aid in my weight loss. I have decided to have my band removed for other reasons as well and I am interested in the sleeve. My surgeon is in agreement and I am going through all the necessary appointment to get approval from my insurance company Cigna. I love this thread & I am excited to begin this journey. Good luck to everyone.

I had band to sleeve revision. Because I have MS and band was eroding and I gain back 35 of 50 lbs I'd loss during a long recovery from MS episode.

I am down 52lbs in 6 months. Much slower than expected but told that is expected in revisions. Also down to a sz 16 from a 24. And diabetes meds in half and no more cholesterol or blood pressure pills all which I'm thankful to God !!!

Prayers up for you :)).

Hi All!

I wanted to start a thread for African-American sleevers (no worries I HEART all sleevers from the rainbow). I just thought, no scientific proof, that African-American sleevers may respond to the surgery different than our lovely non-African American sleeved sisters and brothers. I wanted to know if we had the same skin issue, hair problems, and other surgery related issues. Also, how to deal with the culture shock. African-American "soul food" may be something of the past... or not. So I was just looking for a space to voice culture related issues and concens.

PS- I TRULY  ALL SLEEVERS.

I'm wondering if with all of the changes going on with the app we might ask for something more than just one broad African American sleevers thread. I love the general conversation that goes on here but sometimes see if you have a specific question about hair, skin, or even have a modifier particular recipe it can be hard to weed through to get the answers you're looking for. I know the vets asked for some changes so it seems like this could be a good time to ask but I don't want to speak for everyone what do you guys think?

PLEAAAASSSSEE lets open up more specific threads about issues specific to our culture, but I am concerned that with the new site changes many are going to get frustrated and give up...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
