Recommended Posts

My family is having a big family dinner out at Chilis tonight. I had my surgery 2 weeks ago, and I am in the soft phase of Proteins. Any suggestions of what I can eat while out at Chilis?? Please help!!

I remember that phase.. my family celebrated a birthday and went to a local steak house.. I ate mashed potatoes and applesauce.. but I was okay with it.. they were all worried about eating their steaks in front of me.. I told them not to worry I was going to be able to eat steak again and I will be healthier by the next birthday.. (mine) lol

I remember this phase and eating out. You will be able to find something to accommodate you. But the thing that sticks out in my mind so much is looking around at other people and seeing the portions of food they were consuming. It was so strange for me. It was like looking at the world through a window. Remember, whatever you choose even though it's Soup or something soft like mashed potatoes or black Beans to savor every bite, eat slowly putting your spoon down between bites and enjoy your family! In our culture so much is centered around food rather than relationships it's easy to overlook what's really important. Have fun!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
