Dining out while on mushy phase

My family is having a big family dinner out at Chilis tonight. I had my surgery 2 weeks ago, and I am in the soft phase of proteins. Any suggestions of what I can eat while out at Chilis?? Please help!!

I remember that phase.. my family celebrated a birthday and went to a local steak house.. I ate mashed potatoes and applesauce.. but I was okay with it.. they were all worried about eating their steaks in front of me.. I told them not to worry I was going to be able to eat steak again and I will be healthier by the next birthday.. (mine) lol

I looked at the menu and it can be done.

soups and google the menu and you will be ready. you won't even have to look at the menu

I remember this phase and eating out. You will be able to find something to accommodate you. But the thing that sticks out in my mind so much is looking around at other people and seeing the portions of food they were consuming. It was so strange for me. It was like looking at the world through a window. Remember, whatever you choose even though it's soup or something soft like mashed potatoes or black beans to savor every bite, eat slowly putting your spoon down between bites and enjoy your family! In our culture so much is centered around food rather than relationships it's easy to overlook what's really important. Have fun!
