Learning to cook smaller portions

I find this the most difficult! I'm wasting so much money on left overs that are just going bad in the fridge..

Anyone else had/have this issue?

I've been banded a year and I still catch myself cooking too much food. I also take left overs for lunch or I feed the left overs to my chickens, they love it when this happens. lol

yes! I usually just take left over for my lunch at work, but find myself eating the same thing 3 or 4 days in a row because of this issue!

I find that I freeze some dishes and have them the next week.

I try to cut recipes in half but I still end up throwing out left overs all the time. But I'm ok with that. I was raised to "clean your plate" and "don't waste food"- and that mentality is part of led me to weigh over 400 pounds.

It's better to throw out left overs than to eat food you don't need.

I have a hard time with fresh fruits and veggies going bad before I can use them. Strawberries seem to go bad quickly. :-(

Me too!!! Well almost 300 at 4'11"

I'm ok with throwing the food out like hunger wise I have mentally hit the perfect diet zone .. I just feel guilty about money lol

I am different. I love to cook huge meals. I eat for few days and then I freeze in individual portions and I always have something ready to go.

for sure im getting odd looks cause my eating is so small i take enough for three ppl which my hubby likes cause he eats off my plate and our daughter and he has lunch to take for the next day :) so i try to eat with someone i can share my food with but the looks gotta go and the questions that go with it its like is that all you gonna eat are you sure that all you want to eat blah blah and blah or my fav u should eat more good grief :) smile is all i can do
