My self i go to curves 3x a week and walk on the treadmill the other four. I started that this month. Because in dec i had to have my gallbladder removed so i had to have my Fluid taken out in nov and just put back in on the 29. So how old r u? Married?kids?

I am in Saskatoon, Sk and would love to connect with you ladies!

I just started my pre-op diet on Tuesday (on my 6th day) and I have lost 11.6 pounds ! I am very excited.

I am being banded on February 19th and I am very excited to start this journey in my life. I have been overweight all my life. I have tried ever diet out there only to loose the weight and gain it all back plus more.

I am committed to the band and my new life! I am going to be 50 at the end if this year and it will be my 'reborn' birthday!!!!

Looking forward to sharing , supporting and motivating one another !

Have a great day everyone!!

Cheers!

Great! I am having my surgery in Regina. Great surgeon and all the staff is really wonderful. It is done at a clinic there - I am going for the uninsured as then I can have it done right away. If I went thru the government paid one it would be about 2 years! I am afraid I don't have the time.

Where did you have your surgery? Do you mind me asking what it cost you? It would be interesting to see if it varies from province to province. Not that it would have been convient for me to travel that far for the surgery/fills. It has been challenging enough to go two and half hours for all these appointments in the winter. I had to pay $250 just to meet with the surgeon. The actual surgery which included all my Optifast and fills, meeting with the nutritionist and exercise therapist and psychologist is $16,500.00. This is a lot of money and it was a huge decision but I feel this is going to save my life and there is no price tag for that!

You have done great since your surgery! How have you found it? Much pain? Are you hungry? I can't imagine you have much hunger compared to this liquid diet! lol

Take care and have a great day!

I was also at Slimband in Toronto for my surgery. I got in on a deal, and paid upfront, so I paid $12,900 for mine. I didn't have to do anything special for pre-op, just a low carb, high Protein diet, so lots of chicken and broccoli, I was able to use my airmiles to fly my hubbs and I, and we stayed at my cousin's house for 2 days, so I was able to save quite a bit there. I'm now 9 days post-op, and in what is called "Bandster Hell". Its alot of hungry, I'm not going to lie. I'm on full fluids, and feeling well enough to eat, and I crave real food, but I know it will hurt me to do that. So I try to get enough protein in..80-100g/day, lots of "bodybuilder" Protein Shakes have LOTS of protein, and that fills you up really well.

My post surgery pain wasn't bad at all. I had 3 incisions, one right under my breastbone, and one about 3 inches under each boob, with the port on the left. The port is tender, and its hard to sleep on that side. My gas pain didn't go into my neck and shoulders, as alot of people had said, but I had really bad gas pains in my chest.. like a really giant sore burp was stuck, but gas-x becomes your best friend. Day 2-3 were my worst, saddest days. I was sore, and tired and cranky, and wondered what the hell I had just done to myself, but that feeling goes away.. You start to feel better, I promise. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
