January 2013 Bandsters Unite

Happy New Year from Germany! To those like me who have January 2013 dates to be banded...my prayers to you for a successful surgery and a new YOU!

For those waiting on approvals or just to make up your mind...YOU WILL GET THERE...JUST HOLD ON. I have patience, but truly learned patience waiting on those little green people at the insurance company to say YES!

Speak positive, stay positive, be positive. If you know God...PRAY. He will see each of you thru this journey. I've read many posts and I have laughed, cried, gotten mad, sympatized and rejoiced with many of you through your expressions on LBT. And you have encouraged me to continue to move forward toward my goal.

Success in 2013 to each of you.

:-)

YES, I know!! its gotten way better for me, I look at normal food like (no thank you) the desire is GONE and I'm so excited. We can do it. Keep up the good work

I went for my pre-op appointment today! Everything feels so much more real now. My surgery is this Thursday and I am really looking forward to loosing the weight. My husband was against the surgery at first since he is a personal fitness trainer and preferred that I did it the "natural" way, but he went with me to the pre-op appointment today and seems to be much more supportive and open to the surgery now. I can't wait until i can go out with my husband and his friends and not feel like the hideously big mother of two in the midst of my husband and all of his fitness guru friends with perfect bodies!

Got banded this morning! In the recovery room! Everything went well, except I can't pee! And I can't leave til I do! Oh noooooo

Glad your home going good, mine is Friday today is day 12 of preop diet not doing to bad its pretty good I'm getting more excited by the day, my sister had this done 15 months ago and is doing phinominal, she is really excited for me and before hers they told her she could go out and have a last supper, of anything she wanted, I'm not really sure I want to do that, I went to a preop apt. About 3 weeks ago and I was told I don't have to go back just show up for surgery is this normal

I am only just started the pre-op diet (2 days now) and i have headaches alot... ive been logging on very often for motivation!!

I had my pre op testing today.

I am not sure what I expected to be honest but,

I was at the hospital forever! Ultrasounds, x-rays, pulmonary function tests....and ABGs!!! (Dear god that one hurt!) ???³

It made me think though...

What a commitmemt this is...and reaffirms to me that I want to change

Also started my 2 week Protein shake diet today.

I was fine all day but now that I am home I am so hungry and want to eat. I have been looking at magazines with all the nice clothes I will be able to buy to try and distract me.

Day 1.....totally rough ???ˆ

Hi y'all. I was banded on the 2nd of this month (12 days) and just want to congratulate all the new n soon to bandsters n wanted to talk a little bit of everything that I have been reading on this thread n a little bout what I have been going through. Apparently I'm still in the healing stage but I feel like I'm back to normal. So at the hospital I received lots of pain killers during n before surgery. I also got a patch for nausea that last 72 hrs n it literally did. Up to day 3 I felt okay. Very little gas pain, very little incision pain n no nausea. Once my patch reached its third day I was very nauseated for about 2 days n could barely even drink from the nauseated feeling. Day 6 felt much better n got an appetite. Day 7 I felt hungry bout every 2-3 hours. My doc told me I could have blended foods now n to have lots of blended protein so it would last.I'm not gonna lie I have been cheating some n have had some food not blended. Hope I haven't done any harm. Bout the whole bathroom thing I was constipated until I started eating blended foods that included veggies n some fruit. N ya going pee was weird once I got home from the hospital. I would go n stop n felt like my bladder was still full but I sat until I finished. So my doc told me I had a small fill at surgery n to come for my first fill 4 weeks after surgery. I really feel no restrictions but I'm trying to teach myself to eat slow. Bout 30 min per meal. I have been eating 1 cup of food 3-4 Times a day n overall feel satisfied. When I'm hungry I eat. I had gained 4 lbs right after surgery n since then have lost 8 making it a total of 17 lbs down since my pre-op diet (almost 4 weeks) Well this has been my journey so far. Good luck n a safe recovery to all of us. My prayers are with each one of you everyday.
