  1. I hate this rule and struggle with this rule. I've lost about 10 pounds for the past 2 out of three months and I drink when I eat if I'm super thirsty or my food is spicy. Last month didn't lose so well but I maintained my weight and went on vacation for two weeks. Best advice I can give is try to stay away from drinking with meals but if you must only take a sip or two :/
  2. Congrats I'm so happy for you. I hope that one day I can do the same
  3. I had a horrible time in the beginning with the band I was throwing up couldn't eat couldn't sleep I was miserable. Now 3 months out I'm doing a lot better. Call the doctor if it gets worse and try to hang in there
  4. Banded 1/24/13 start weight 305 Current weight 260 I have no fills and I am managing pretty well. I exercise 4 times a week. Two of those days I meet with a personal trainer.
  5. My symptoms Basically went away. I didn't take pain meds and now I've skipped a month. It's very weird I'm used to bad cramps and regular periods.
  6. I had a rough time for about a month with adjusting to the band. I was on nausea medication, anti inflammatory and something to get my digestive system moving. I hated broth so I didn't do that but I made sure I sipped my Gatorade and water as much as a could tolerate. I also had to at one point be hospitalized because I was dehydrated. So call your doctor don't wait too long. Good luck and it does get better.
  7. I can honestly say I do not weigh myself or have the desire to. I get weighed when I go to the doctors and when I meet with my personal trainer that's it. I guess it helps me not feel discouraged by a number. So far since my surgery 1/24/13 I've lost 34 pounds.
  8. Does anyone else have disgusting burps? I'm a month and 1/2 out. I just want to know do they ever stop? I call them empty tummy burps when I get them when I wake up and between meals.
  9. The best advice I can give to anyone is stay off of the scale. I don't know my weight until i go to the dr for my check ups
  10. The only reason I lost 30 pounds so quickly was because I couldn't eat and I had a hard time keeping food down at times. Now that I can eat about a month and 1/2 out I haven't lost anything. Don't give up yet. I don't understand why go through the process to give up so soon?
  11. I had trouble with vomiting as well first in hospital and then because I was eating too fast. Now I've slowed down and haven't been sick. I also take medication for nausea and digestion which I have been doing for a month . I now take it as needed. It does get better and if it persist call your doctor immediately
  12. Go to counseling I'm finding that this is common and in the beginning stages this is something I worry about. Being overweight is what you know. This is new and frightening. There's nothing wrong with needing a little help and starting to love the new you. FYI you look awesome ???Š
  13. I have 7 incisions and some are going to fade nicely while others will leave a niceness like under my left boob but Idc it's now apart of me accept it or not.
  14. My doctor moved me on and I actually tolerate it better just figuring out when to stop is hard to me.
  15. Has anyone experienced acne? I usually have clear skin but 17 days post op I have more bumps on my face than ever.
  16. It'll get better in on day 16 and today I had chicken fajitas no wrap no salsa a few strips and sour cream. Today is the first day I've had three meals since surgery. Hold on I know it's rough. Good luck
  17. Will I ever be able to drink with a straw again?
  18. I don't feel hungry either and then when I eat I feel like it goes down done then 1 to 2 hours later it wants to come up and sometimes it does. I need to chew more and eat slower I think. Smh this part sucks.
  19. Will I have to takes just sips of water for the rest of my life with the band?
  20. Congrats and good luck with Recovery!
