January 2013 Bandsters Unite
Hey everyone, Just checking in. I had my surgery on Jan. 9th. I hit the 50lb mark today! I'm excited, but feel like I should be further along. I must confess though, I haven't done ANY exercise . I know I need to but you know how it goes... I too was stuck at 40 lbs for 3 months. My band has 8.5 in it and I feel like that's all I can take right now. Keep up the good work January 2013 bandsters. WE WILL DO THIS!!!!

Worst Week EVER...
Always remember, "Nothing taste as good as skinny feels" Something I learned at a ww meeting. I work in a hospital, today they had the entire break room full of snacks and goodies. I turned around and walked right back out. Then one of my friends/coworkers said," I'll go get you a donut if you want one, I wont tell anyone" I wanted it so bad. I told her no but thanks anyway That would only be cheating myself... You made the right choice! Hang in there!!!

Anything an absolute no?

I knew after about 2 minutes. It felt like something was stuck in my chest. I had this pain I can't even describe. Maybe like someone hitting you between your breast dead center(like with a fist) I went to the bathroom and it came out real fast. I felt relief right away. Oh and I don't get my first fill until Valentines day. I've always been a fast eater and I feel sure that had something to do with it!

I'm 3 days post op. and I'm having trouble burping! I feel like I have to, but it won't come out. Is that a common side effect? Oh it's coming out the other end just fine

I went today for my pre admission testing. I had to go to the weight management center for a 2 hr power point, then off to the hospital for labs, ekg, chest x-ray and pre admission. I requested to be the first surgery of the day and my wishes were meet. I have to be at the hospital at 6:30am and surgery is at 8:30! SOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!! Oh surgery is Jan. 9th

Being prepared after surgery
Thanks Naturallyjai! I have a binder with that stuff in it. I forgot! (Duh) I guess I'm just getting excited and wondered if anyone had any other tips I haven't heard of yet

Being prepared after surgery
Thanks, you guys are great! I went out and bought some comfy stretch pants and slippy socks, and a baggy shirt for the hospital.(to wear in and out) I received nice Pj's for Christmas(I'm saving them for after the surgery) I'm going to make a list as far as GasX and such goes. I just want to have everything ready for my first few days at home.

Being prepared after surgery
Hi everyone. My surgery is in 10 days and I'm getting very excited! I was wondering if you all could give some ideals on what could make the first week at home more comfortable. Maybe examples of liquids and comfortable things to help ease the pain from surgery. Thank you in advance!

Surgery scheduled for Jan. 17
I'm scheduled for Jan 9th. My Dr. wants me on a 1500 calorie diet a day for two weeks before surgery. (I guess I got lucky) He told me to lose 5 or 6 lbs before surgery. That starts the day after Christmas! Congrats and lets all keep in touch!
