Aetna Insurance

Recommended Posts

I have Aetna and they approved me the first time my doctor office submitted it. They gave me no troubles. I was scared because I didn't lose weight during my 6 months. I have mild high blood pressure so I don't kno if they based it on that. My surgery is 11/8/12. Good luck

Congratulations on your surgery date!!!

I just finished my six months (i only lost a couple of pounds) and my surgeons office submitted my paper work to Aetna Friday (11-2-12) so I am waiting to see if I'm approved. I am 5' 3" 210 pounds and am pre diabetic' date=' my blood pressure is slightly high, and my cholesterol is high so I don't think there will be a problem but I am so stressed about it. Wish me luck :)[/quote']

Good luck, hang in there and stay positive, you will get the approval you have been waiting for!!

I am so glad your surgery went well. How is post op for you?

Thank you. They told me 15 days and one woman was like call in everyday. So I am calling every few days, but the woman was very rude today and told me they don't have to tell me. I am going to keep trying. I would like to get surgery before Thanksgiving due to family functions in December. How long did you take off of work? I am thinking two weeks?

Welcome back mzyunique, From what I see all went well!

Steelerfan- Hold in there. your answer will come. Try to occupy yourself with other hobbies, or like me, do some school work that I have been slacking on lol ;-). At least you have completed the "jumping through hopps" phase.

I think I tend to worry because I just want to make sure I completed all of the requirements. I am on the 3 month process and appartanly am the first that my surgeons office has dealt with.

I tell you! Good luck and keep us posted.

Still waiting. The paper work was actually sent to Aetna on the 1st of November. I called today and was told it is in review and it usually takes a week to 14 days. I was fine all through the six month supervised diet and now I'm so stressing. I hope I hear soon!

Becky,

I would check on Friday which would be nine days! I don't think it is going to be problem. I was worried the whole time but you will def be approved. The disheartening news for me was my surgeon is back up until February. This information has me a little down.

Thanks I'll call back Friday. I would be so upset if I got approved and had to wait till February.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
