The November 'band'wagon!

On June 14th I met with the doctor and began the journey of testing and evaluations. This coming Wednesday I will (hopefully) have my meeting to review my sleep study results and receive my final green light of clearance!

I am praying all goes well and that Amerihealth Insurance doesn't deny me after all these months of testing and anticipation.

I think a little puree turkey will do just fine this year for Thanksgiving… here's to crossed fingers for a November banding!!

Anyone else in the same boat? :D

I was scared but im still at the hospital and they told me i had to have four. Oz before i could leave. It wasn't all at once, it was spread over time lol.

I am November 16th as well and also have Rheumatoid Arthritis! Very excited and nervous at the same time

Oh wow that's us crazy and we have the same date!!!! Keep in touch!!!

Don't get nervous girls surgery is over and you know nothing about it, you will be sore and as many have said not really pain but discomfort , no you will not be able to turn over in bed for a couple of nights, and yes it hard to get anything down the 1st couple of days my Dr say get in what you can but be sure to hydrate as much as possible. My 5th day today and feeling better each day, still can't get all the protein drinks down but have a want for something in my mouth, sf jello and puddings helps but can't wait for my mush !

Doing great here! So far ive had 4 oz of apple juice and i am stuffed! I have some incision pain today, but tolerable. The worst is getting up and down. Popsicles are ok per my surgeon and md

Glad you are doing well so far it gets better

I was just able to eat half of a whole Popsicle. Now if I can get these fluids down.

Am I the only one having no problems getting liquids down? I have been drinking all day and have been fine. Is this normal?

I have had no problems with liquids at all. I drank yesterday after surgery and was fine and have drank Water, broth today with no problems.

In case you are having problems getting in protein: I bought unflavored protein powder at GNC and have been mixing it with my broth. Makes it a little cloudy but you can't taste it at all.

I started a post op November bandsters topic so we have a new place to share post op stuff. And not scare the ones who have their date by reading our new issues. Lol

how do i find it?

Home from surgery a few hours ago. I checked in at 8 am, surgery at 10 am home at 330pm.

After the procedure... Woke up with bad chest pain from the gas... A sore throat and my port site hurt like hell

Pain meds helped the chest pain... Then it was referred to shoulder... The pain is manageable now. Prescription for liquid hydrocodone\tylenol. Only have taken once since hospital.

Port side has just a few drops of red drainage - normal... Still very sore

Sore throat is slowly going away.

No issues with drinking fluids today.

Steady on my feet... But mostly taking it easy.

I am a side sleeper, so I hope I get some rest tonight sleeping on my back.

Hope everyone else who was banded is doing ok

Peace

Bonnie

Oh I forgot to say, we are in the mist of a nor'easter here in CT. It was suppose to be snow turning to rain with no accumulation, now we have about 6 inches and the wind is holling, snow is piling up. Thankfully I have 4 wheel drive and we are leaving extra early.
