Anyone Else Cold Since Loosing Weight?

Recommended Posts

I have been banded 1 1/2 years and have lost around 80 pds. I am always cold since I've lost weight, does anyone else have this happen? Thanks

I used to be cold all the time and it turned out to be my Thyroid. Maybe you should get yours checked. It's very common. Good luck!

You would think that with all this weight I would also be hot, I am the opposite I am always cold. My thyroid is off and I am on a small dose of meds, I am going to get it rechecked soon to see if my numbers are normal.

I was freezing all the time for like 2.5 years.......now I'm at 3 years 3 months post op and I'd say within the last 6 months my body has started to regulate it's temp!

Just went to the dr last week, they did alot of blood work to check my thyroid because I told her I was freezing all the time. So I am just waiting for the results. Dr said it could be I have lost fat so that was some of the padding that was keeping me warm.

I am not cold all the time - but i used to be hot and clammy all the time. Now, some nights i just cant get warm so i have a hot, hot shower every night just before i jump into bed and take a hot pack with me when it is really cold. Thank goodness the weather is warming up.

But i have to agree with Mrspopeye,

Yes when it's cold I freeze my toes go numb and everything. I lost a lot of weight and quickly so I don't think my body knows how to regulate it. But when it's hot I get real hot to I can very rarely find a happy medium lol. But it's a small price to pay to be how I am now

I am freezing all the time now that I am down almost to goal.. Granted it better than sweating when I climbed 4 steps but it drives me nuts remembering a sweater all the time.

Definitely colder since I lost weight, but also prone to power surges (hot flushes) so I never know what the next half hour will hold. I have learned the art of layering! (And my winter doesn't get anywhere near as cold as some other places.)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
