I Am A Bit Over Zealous In The Burping Department.....

Hmmm.... first forum post... But i was just curious.... is anyone else out there suffering from burping?? I can't stop!! And while my doctor has thrown several possibilities out there at me, I am baffled because I am definitely listening when my body tells me I am full... No overeating. Not eating anything I shouldnt! Not drinking too much too quickly... Just wondering if i am the only one....

Anyone else have any insight????

I burl almost every time I eat! I feel like I should have a sign that says "excuse me" so idon't have to keep saying it!

  • Ok well that makes me feel more at ease... I'm constantly excusing myself...., kind of embarrassing sometimes, but all my friends and Co-workers are aware and supportive. So I'm good! Lol

Goshers, I'm pre-op and burp all the time! I have a nervous habit of swallowing too much air. I can't imagine what it will be like post-op. I better learn how to burp my sentences!

I am 5 weeks out from my surgery and I was burping like crazy about a week and a half ago, but it seems like it has gone away. The only time I feel 'burpy' is when I first get up in the morning and my tummy is empty.

I burped a lot about the first month of surgery and then it drastically went down. I will still burp, but only occasionally and only when I'm getting too full or carbonated beverages.

Burping for me is typically a sign that I need to stop eating - now.

I don't even have to eat or drink anything. I just burp.... All the time. Its insane.

Yep, that's how it was the first month for me.

I burp a lot more now than I did preband. I am just used to it now.

I am almost 3 years out. i still burp, a lot. It is just a thing we do. It could be worse. I heard an old poem when I was a kid. "Excuse me from the bottom of my heart, if it came otu the other way it would have been a f_____!" :-)Karen

Ugh

NOT looking forward to the burping. i personally get grossed out soo badly from burps (especially the smelly ones which I hope these are not :o ) So lord help me if this is an issue!!

I have a friend who makes really stinky burps and I find it extremely difficult to be near her. I hope I don't become like that

NO, my experience is that the burps are just little tiny ones, and not gross stinky ones. The gas releases from you somehow! Better from burps! Karen

I've been burping more lately after my last fill. I think I sip too fast and when I eat I swallow air. But with more restriction on band my stomach is probably reacting this way. I just have to remember to slow down and chew well.

My burps are short and tiny. Its literally just air. But it if all the time! I have not consumed anything yet, as I just woke up, and I'm burping like crazy. I know its just air, because sometimes I get this long burp, but its not a burp. I just have air releasing from my diaphragm for what seems like forever. Its just odd. Not painful, not gross, just annoying and odd.

Exactly! Best wishes on your journey!
